I love he saying Sleater-Kinney makes horrible background music, every time I reread the book I chuckle at that, because I listen to them while I work all the time. I think maybe it’s bad background music for most people, but I have ADHD, so maybe my background noise requirements are different from most people’s. 😂

A career in law would have been so frustrating for her. I was a lawyer and it was good being a lawyer in civil (not criminal) court. It was theatrical and somewhat challenging but Carrie’s career is true inspiration.

Sheila Alves She responded to some of my tweets before this and then when she announced the book tour, that date sold out quickly and I didn’t get a ticket so I commented on her Instagram saying I couldn’t get a ticket and she replied saying she’d put me on the guestlist, so I put my hand up to ask a question at the end when she was taking questions and they came to me, I met her after the gig too, she’s great

Carrie is such an unusual combination of an entertainer who is also introspective and keenly aware of their own motivations ----and yet, still somehow wants to be surrounded by people? It's a wonder she is able to construct a unifying narrative and I suspect that she in fact cannot. No genius can.
