Jason & Tawnee---I hope that every so often you sit back & reflect on what an amazing thing you have accomplished here. From a little rescue operation in California to this huge, successful Full Circle of Life conference, mentoring, supporting financially, getting the message out there, dealing with adversity---you 2 have done something amazing here! I hope all the people who've been with you along the way can also reflect on their very important contributions to your wonderful organization. Finally, I hope that somewhere you keep count of all the equine lives you have saved---in fact, I think it should be up on a whiteboard somewhere in the office, where everyone can see what you've done over the years, where you can see how what a difference you've made, for those days when things are hard. Heck put up a count of all the different critters you've saved, just remember to save some room for that first kangaroo!

Wonderful episode, so many different and positive things are happening. Volunteers were outstanding, so nice to see the kids contributing. Kory's training is always fun to watch and I learn something new each time. Carrie and her daughter are looking so happy together doing this work, wonderful to see them. Looking forward to seeing how all the groups progress and learn. You are all amazing !!

I think the donkey didn’t want to load into the trailer because he didn’t want to leave the rescue facility. He doesn’t know he’s going to another rescue. He probably thought he was going to another auction. Animals are smart. … and if it were me, I wouldn’t want to leave the wonderful folks at Horse Plus Humane Society either 😉

donkeys are really difficult to load - they like doing things at their own pace. They're very smart and rarely do they want a human telling them what to do. Had same problem getting my very friendly donkey to our new home.

This volunteer program is a great thing for kids that love animals. They are learning more than just how to clean things. They are learning what it takes to properly take care of horses. Especially for the young girls who very often are dreaming of having their own horse. Kudos to the parents that allow these kids to participate.

Im going to be opening a Therapeutic Riding Program for adolescents suffering from addiction and other mental health issues. I need many prayers!! All my horses and ponies will be adopted from places like THIS wonderful rescue!

Another excellent episode to watch and learn from with Kory working the horses, but please don't make him climb out of float windows too often. Ha. Carrie you are looking great and it has been wonderful to see you back in these videos as between you and Tawnee do make a good team. I really hope the ponies go to great homes quickly from your end as too the horses you brought to HPHS. Those puppies are just so beautiful and the sadness of so many areas in the USA that have no animal control to help them is sad. I am very eager to see this Full Circle of life spread far and wide, Tawnee and Jason you are real horse heroes and great mentors contributing to the welfare of equine and other critters. May God continue to bless your work and all those working, donating and volunteering .

Just have to say that I’m sure Outlaw Rescue is amazing, but watching the poor donkey refusing to be caught and then loaded was heartbreaking. He finally found peace at HP and then he’s being forced to leave again not really knowing what fate awaits him. Equines are never able to be part of the discussion about their future. Thank goodness HP makes sure they have a soft place to land and if not they take them back into their care.

Check out Steve Young's videos on trailer loading. Almost all of his videos have trailer loading and am sure you might convince him to stop by that one time per year he flies in to FL and drives to the Carolinas. You might think about a ranch day or a training day for those horses that aren't able to be handled. Charge an audit fee or working spot fee - just some suggestions. Am sure it would be a full house. Make your idea their idea. Keep moving them until they want to go in because there's nothing in it for them to fight the process. Luckily the donkey wasn't mean about it. Also the one rescue group that feeds twice a day in the chutes really help to get those horses used to the process of handling at least. I know - a bit labor intensive, but they even said it was worth it in an unexpected way. Hope that helps.

It’s great how you have real stuff that needs to be done when the volunteers arrive. A lot of organizations have “ make work” phoney tasks to make potential donors feel they are really needed.

I had a van that was the opposite, it would take it upon itself to rev itself up. Especially when you were stopped next to a police cruiser. You would have to have both feet on the brake pressing as hard as you could so it wouldn't move while the motor wound up. The looks on the cops faces were priceless however as they read "are you serious?" They would tail you for several blocks just waiting for your stupidity to take hold. When one pulled us over and we explained it, he of course did not believe us and had it towed to a garage for safety reasons. The garage said they had no idea why or even how to fix it and that yes we were telling the truth. When asked for his recommendations, he said an exorcist! LOL If ever there were gremlins in the machine, this definitely was in their group. lol

Lol 😂 the guy who's the bucking dummy..i think sometimes , we could all use one of those. He can stay on, and teach the horse no dice, does no good to buck, im staying on for the ride. . In my experience , if i had a horse that bucked and someone came off..they did it even more so they wouldent get rode. The ones we could stay aboard, they usally wouldent buck..they figured it out, THEY were the ones who got let out into the pasture, the other ones that liked to buck, got tio move their feet, and more ground work insted of just standing around and eating all day and avoiding having to do anything.

So what hapoened to the last auction rescues? I miss the way the old videos were put out where we got to see them qfter you got them and going through their intake. Now we are left wondering what you got, what their stories are, what happens to them, etc... and we see some come in and then they seem to disappear. It would be nice to keep seeing who gets adopted, transfered, etc, because its heartwarming to see them get homes and go from needing love to found love on the wall, and to know what other rescue took over q horse we might hace wanted to qdiot becore we can even put in the paoerwork to adopt. I was interested in Porthos qnd the Cremello QH and both just disappeared before I could even go through the process. I stopped watching as much because it got upsetting instead of uplifting. I love what you do, don't get me wrong, I'm so glad you do what you do in getting horses help, but on this end I am looking for just one dream horse, because thats all I can afford at this time and living so far away it takes planning for many of us. I think people like me would just like to be able to have a chance and definitely to keep in the loop because its inspiring to see their journeys
