Bad shape means no control on the qball. Pool is not about pocketing hard shots, it is a about getting yourself easy shots by controlling the qball. It is the basic foundation. Now, if you don't know at least this ... I guess you struggle with the rules also

As others have said, the cue ball control wasn't great. HOWEVER, a couple of things. Firstly, that table looked lightning fast. In these type of comps you don't normally get a shot of the table before your game and only playing one frame makes it very hard to adapt quickly. And this is huge. Playing one frame pool for your team, your county or your country comes with MASSIVE pressure. Suddenly every shot you play becomes easy to miss or play poor position. The main thing is she won the frame and although she snookered herself, the escape and pot was very good. As they say, it doesn't matter how you got there, it's all about the "W" next your name

Literally. I’m trialing for the county team on Sunday and I know I’m a good player but I fear I’ll lose my games just from the immense pressure I put on myself let alone what it must feel like to play for your country. I went to practice on the professional tables to get a feel for it as I’ve only ever played on pub tables and all of a sudden my game got bad for my first 5-6 frames. I wasn’t used to the tables, the speed, the grip, the polished balls. One frame on a new table, with additional heat from the media stuff and pressures could completely change your game

@RebeccaMarkelvGaming Best of luck Rebecca. Try not let the occasion get to you and just focus on your own game. I promise you that most of the players there will be feeling as much pressure as you and every single person has missed due to that pressure. Although the tables will be fast and play different to a pub table, if you can adapt quickly, they're amazing to play on. The pockets may be tighter but if the cloth is new, potting balls down the cushion suddenly becomes easier. All the best 👍

@@DrPool147 practiced on the tables again Saturday and was becoming confident. Even, for a little funny show off moment in scotch doubles, played left handed on my final shot and won the game. Just got to breathe and not play overly safe or attack unnecessarily. I’m hoping if I make it to progress to singles tournaments and trial for England if I’m good enough. ☺️
