I made this shawl (minus the pockets) back in 2020-2021 and it kept me warm during a frigid Australian winter working from home. I got little ambitious and did it with three different colors (in two sets of two intertwined at once), and it came out looking really cool, so thanks for this very thorough tutorial!

Carrie, this is a lovely pattern, but as a semi-new crocheter I did not realize I should have made this longer for myself. I now see you mention it in the written instructions, but it would be helpful to include a quick summary of lengths in the verbal tutorials. I don’t want to rip out the whole shawl so I’m in the process of making two 6 inch panels and I’m going to attach them to each of the ends to add length....that is, before I sew on the pockets. I’m going to use a multiple of 7 and use 28 stitches to cast on. Hoping this works.

Hi Carrie , have seen so many tutorials on the pocket shawl but this one so amazing , beautiful and so easy to follow too.👌👌 Your method of teaching is great, to the point and so clear too.👍👏👏 I would like you to do a easy tutorial on wrap over cape shawl please as I have never worn an overcoat leaving in this cold country and have always bought the capes from high street shopping and sometimes do not get what you like and the material is not to your standard too. I do crochet a lot but normally only blankets and find difficulty in following a pattern so tutorials are any easy option for me, sorry am getting be bit greedy about asking too much. Thanks do appreciate a lot for your kind attention.😍😍💐💐🙏🏻

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful pattern. I crochet hats for our church to give away every Christmas at a bazaar for a local school. If you could add a pattern for a uni-sex hat that has a little style. I know how to make the beanie style hat and a bottom up with a ribbed brim but they are sort of visually boring. Thanks again for sharing your enormous talent.

I have made 2 of these wonderful shawls for Christmas gifts in only 2 weeks. I have a question is the 16 inches including the border we started with or is it just the pattern rows? I counted only the pattern rows as 16 inches wide so with border it is about 19 inches wide. Thank you for all the patterns you share easy and you are a great teacher.

I like to do foundation DC would l also do a # divisible by 7 ? Thank you
@ramirezld2164 жыл бұрын
If you’re doing fdc it would be 194 for this pattern, if you’re wanting to adjust the size, do a multiple of 7+5 (I adjusted mine to 215 fdc, so 210+5, this will ensure when you get to row 8 you’ll end on the ch3, skip 3 and sc in the last)

Taught myself to crochet during lock down. I am trying this pattern, which I love, but want to add a double crochet at the end of each row for the first 6 rows to keep the edge straight. This means I have too may stitches when moving on from the first 6 rows. Where am I going wrong please?

Hi Carrie love this but how do I make it longer next time? I did the 196 chain did the whole pattern putting fringe on but feel like it needs to be side longer? For my next one what do you recommend?
@sharonmotley10152 жыл бұрын
I am finishing at what your written pattern says row 9 but your video says different. I am confused 😕 it says in video for row 4 which is repeat of row 8 in written pattern.
@jenpavone1252 жыл бұрын
Im confused about row 3. The first reoeat of row 2. Do we do front posts around the back posts of the previous row or front posts around the front posts of the previous row? Maybe im overthinking it, but im confused
@jenpavone1252 жыл бұрын
I am confused bc when i start row 3 it doesnt look like the first stitch should be a front post. I know you don't have a video for it so if you could try to answer i would appreciate it so much. I am making this as a gift. Thank you 🙏
