Switching from getting my nails done at a walk-in salon to a home based nail girly this year was such a game changer for me! Made the experience much more enjoyable lol

As long as you don’t leave the uncured gel on for an extended amount of time like hours or days you’ll be fine! As soon as any gel gets on your skin just wipe it off and make sure you don’t apply super thick layers so the led can penetrate it to cure it

You and Drew with your nieces reminds me so much of my Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jeff. They were the greatest people. We’d spend a week with them in Dallas in the summers and do all the fun things, baseball games, six flags, movies, games, eating pizza, Chinese, and just soaking up each other. As an adult she was who I always went to. Watching you speak to your niece and then go on the hike made my heart smile thinking of how special y’all are to them. 🤍

Oh! After seeing your last TJ's haul I was inspired and got a lot of good stuff ... several kinds of "fancy" cheese for a Christmas Eve charcuterie platter, 3 kinds of crackers, and you really missed out on the Candy Cane Body Butter!!!! It was in the frame where you were finding the Brazil Nut Body Trio. I love it!!!! Yeahhhh, even living here in "Christmas Tree Central" (Oregon) we have a fake tree. Until a couple of years ago I even had 50 acres of evergreen forest where we could get free ones It's just too much faff ... expensive, so much work keeping the tree fresh, looking out for "critters" living in the branches, shedding needles, fire risk, and pitch on the carpets .... besides, we have a "skinny" corner in the living room where two windows come together and our "slim" fake tree fits perfectly.

I loved all of them! Yours is the only vlogmas I’ve ever watched every single one! It felt like just hanging out with a friend. About the nail thing, I do the semi cured gel nail strips at home and they are super easy and last a long time, maybe a couple of weeks. You only need to prep your nails, apply the strip, cure them with the light, and I put a clear top chat for extra shine and protection.

I've watched the whole vlogmas and appreciate your doing this. I enjoyed watching. Maybe next year you should line up an opportunity to volunteer during Christmas. Ring the bell, serve food, etc. I was at my brother's house during Christmas Eve and he insisted we watch the Christmas episode of Bob's Burgers (lol). It was funny--they go through three real trees before Christmas day--reminded me of you guys. I love my fake tree!

Did you water the christmas tree? Here in Europe we buy our real xmas tree 2 weeks max before christmas so it stays fresh for xmas and the new year but you have to also water it!

I say this with love for you and for anyone else who doesn't understand this: if a "calendar" is 12 days long, it's designed to be enjoyed over the 12 days of Christmas, which starts on December 25 and ends on January 6th (the Feast of the Epiphany). You know, like the song? So it's not an "Advent" calendar, since "Advent" occurs BEFORE Christmas. And yes, I know they're labeled "Advent". Ignore that. Go by the number of days.

I also get anxious at big nail salons, but really love having my nails done. What worked great for me was finding a private nail tech - she has a small quiet room in the back of a relatively small hair salon. It's so much more relaxing, never feels rushed, and i always leave with gorgeous nails.

I use gel polish at home kit before i cure them i would take some nail polish remover and brush and clean up around my nails and then cure. Having them done at home or at a salon if gel polish isnt removed right away after time you can develop a allergic reaction to the product

You can use peel-off latex to protect your cuticles until you get better at doing the gel nails. You will be fine if you don't leave the gel on when you cure. Ensure it's all removed from your skin before curing, or try the peel-off stuff while practising. It's a shame to get all that stuff and not get to enjoy it.

Yeah I heard with the gel if you use gelish it’s not like beetles. The beetles polish does that. Also get a brush and some acetone and dip the brush and go through your cuticles. Even better have Drew hold your skin down like the ladies at the salon.

Every time my mum walked past a nail salon her head would spin, she was super sensitive to everything, the concoction of chemicals is strong, my sister just sneezes constantly till she gets out to fresh air, safe to say we aren’t nail girlies lol
