Have you noticed that the inducer fan on your furnace has gotten really noisy when the heat is on ? You may need to replace the Inducer Motor.

Working on your furnace can be hazardous if your not knowledgeable with AC Power I wouldn't attempt to tackle this job. Improper installation could lead to CO2 leaks

A couple of things I experienced with replacing my Bryant Inducer (Draft) Motor: the Isolator Mounts (or grommets) were no longer needed, as the replacement fan used metal mounts. The inducer "kit" I ordered was not just the motor, but the entire replacement Inducer Motor Assembly, so I didn't need the metal ring or the new gasket, as those were included (and didn't need the grommets since those were no longer needed on the new assembly). This video was still extremely helpful for me to figure out how to remove it and replace it and to hook up the wiring in the right places. I am still wondering what is the purpose of the fan "shield", and why it's important to have it oriented in a certain way? Anyway, thanks so much, saved a lot of money by doing this myself and my furnace is nice and quiet now!

Dang I just bought a house and the furnace wasn’t blowing when the heater kicked on. It was really noisy at first not sure if the blower wasn’t working then. But it isn’t now for the heat. The fan mode works. OMG I recognize your voice. I’ve been watching you for years to do work on my Jeep. Ha! Someone I can trust ❤️

Fan set screw rusted in, broke off quality allen on mine. Should order a new fan as backup to save separate shipping cost.

Yep. I’ll get stuck on there. Typically an HVAC guy Will opt to replace the entire inducer assembly instead of the motor itself. Saves a headache and hassle.

I think I’m having the same issue but my noise is different. It’s more a squealing noise but I’ve taken the front panel off and can hear that it’s coming from the motor.

Mine spins freely. Compare to yours. So it no the motor. What could it be?
@victork3397
@victork3397 Жыл бұрын
A motor with bad bearings will still spin freely. Spinning by hand is not a good way to test this. Put power to it and see if it makes noise.
@victork3397
@victork3397 Жыл бұрын
It’s probably the bearings, which are actually replaceable by themselves. They are a hassle to get to, so most people opt to replace the entire motor.
