I’ve never quite seen a junction box for a capacitor. Gives new meaning to cap in a box

😆 I've seen these guys and have video on some sketchy shit they've done. That was above and beyond what I've seen previously 😆. Thanks Curtis

Haha just saw the end of video… really good catch. A lot of people would have left that and not cared or realized

Yeah, I honestly didn't think about it right away, but luckily caught it. Thanks Ryan

That unit probably runs 100% most of the time anyways in a restaurant. 👍 Good job pushing in the contactor too 🤣💪👊

😆 no doubt. Didn't give them an option, added the contactor, and charged them for it. I know this customer, if fixed, they ain't worried about it. Try to always be one step ahead. You know the deal. Thanks, Subcool!

I like how they VFD the blower motor but have a fixed compressor to save power. Here in NZ we run variable speed compressors and blowers due to load and they don't use others brand of VFD's to do it. Temperzone make most of the package units here and are reverse cycle for heating until they get refrigerant logged in the outdoor coil.....🤣🤣🤣

If it’s a furnace, the fan won’t turn on with a call for heat… the gray wire on that VFD board will turn the fan on for heat and cool

Almost missed it myself

Bumping contacters is common practice. As long as you are safe about it. Unless its a wye delta starter
@EverythingHVACR Жыл бұрын
😆. You gotta know what contactor you're bumping

Carrier has a bulletin about installing the contactor and changing the fuses(fuses need to be replaced with correct size to match the motor). The unit's wiring schematic/diagram shows both the VFD wiring and the non-VFD blower wiring.

Florida knocks a lot of these VFDs out, its almost like you should never quote them anymore, they always get declined. Ive replaced one before though, not hard, just had to have fun with ABB lol
@EverythingHVACR Жыл бұрын
If they were in a different location, they might last longer. No one replaces here either unless their under warranty.

@@EverythingHVACR I never understood why they put it in the blower section, I get to keep it cool but man it does get hella moist in there...

In my experience it's 2 weeks to a month later that drive will trip again.

Ohh, no doubt that's why I went ahead and bypassed it, not worth a call back.
