I moved before my husband did across several states. I can’t imagine going across the world! It’s stressful, but you’re doing it right by starting early. It takes way longer to donate and sell off items than you may realize. Plus getting new things you may need like clothes or tech cables. I wish yo u5e best of luck and hope you enjoy the holidays with family.

Been watching your videos since your early days when I was living as an expat in Spain. Having moved across the country and the world a few times (with 2 dogs) , I can tell you for sure that there will be tons of lists to make and details to take care of, things you will remember and some you may realize were important later. In all of it, just breathe and do whats next with as much ease, joy, and grace as you can. No matter where your journey takes you, it will all be worth it, because it's your precious life. I'm pretty sure you realize that! Wishing you all the best as you move through this process. (PS - As someone who also shipped things across the ocean, don't listen to anyone else's advice about keeping or getting rid of "stuff" - because having the precious things you love that remind you of where you came from, or stories in your life, will ground you as you live in a completely new culture)

If it makes you feel any better, when we decided to move to San Francisco from Australia, we did everything within two weeks. From deciding to move, selling everything we owned and hopping on a plane. We've been here for 8 years now. 😂I understand how stressful moving can be. Everything will work out :) You guys are going to have so much fun! Is it weird that I'm excited to see what your garden will be like? 🙈

Thanks for sharing your wedding journey, Carrie. I know how hard it is, as my fiance (now husband) and I got engaged Christmas 2019 with the intention of getting married June 2020. We spent a year and a half planning, putting deposits down, etc, and then the pandemic happened. We ended up going through with our wedding but on a much smaller scale. We went from 200 people to 22 people (including us), and honestly, it was still the best day ever. Initially I was upset, but we didn't want to wait. We have family planning goals (I am now expecting baby in May!) and have been together for 7 years. It was our time and we were going to cherish the moment even if it looked different. It was very much "US" and about us and I felt so amazing and fantastic on our wedding day. All this being said, we do live in Canada (British Columbia) and we were allowed to have close gatherings during the time of our wedding. I wish you and Alex all the love in the world because I know how stressful and uncertain and frustrating this in between process. Sending love from Canada!

We had a beautiful and expensive destination wedding planned on Vancouver Island and obviously chose to cancel it to be safe for ourselves and others. Luckily we got all of our money back which isn’t common for many couples this year. With all those savings we were in a much better place to buy a house! It was the best thing that could have happened. And we got married in my parents backyard on our original date and it was so special and perfect. Everything works out in the end 💕 I can’t wait for you 2 to be married no matter how different it looks. I trust you will look back on everything with no regrets.

Hi Carrie! I’m from Spain and here, as you probably know, things with Covid are crazy, but I got married 15 days ago. Last June we changed our plans and We decided to celebrate our wedding only with the main family (we were less than 20 which is what it’s allow here right now) and we had the most perfect day even we couldn’t kiss some of them. We also decided that we are going to have a party wedding with our beloved ones and friends when Covid let us doing secure. So we are having 2 weddings lol. I’m just telling you this because whatever you decided even is a very little wedding our posponed it all is a good choice. You are such a beautiful person and Alex and you inspire me a lot. You deserve all the happiness in the world ❤️

Blackberries grow wild here in New Zealand! You can go on country drives and pick them on the side of the road. I would not recommend planting in a garden as they will take over! But still easy to get your fill. Good luck with the packing!

That's very true about New Zealand weather. It is gloomy here but very humid at the same time. Summers are amazing, very very hot but winters are freezing. One thing about NZ weather... you get all seasons in one day lol.

We were supposed to get married during the summer and we have been and then the pandemic hit. I'm from Finland and my fiance is from California and we haven't been able to even be together since December because of the travel ban. This is really devastating since we have had a life together in Finland and a business. We weren't able to celebrate our 5th year anniversary together either.

Just wondering, is there any particular reason that you aren't just selling most of your stuff and buying replacements in New Zealand? I can see why you'd bring along something like a painting, but is there something wrong with New Zealand mugs that prevents you from buying new ones once there? At the very least, you won't want to bring along your kitchen appliances because the voltage is different so you'd have to get a step-down converter for everything or else it'll fry.

I know exactly how upsetting this year has been for wedding planning. I got married last month and not only did we have to deal with covid-19, we had the wildfires happening a few days before our big day. We can planned so much having our ceremony (we couldn't have the reception) by the water and we had to change plans the day before the wedding to have it indoors.

I was wondering if you would consider making a video that breaks down the expenses of moving to another country + what your visa or residence paperwork was like. Tips for nz pay rates are $15 ph Food is very expensive as it’s harder to ship to nz it’s always cold never fully warm sun but you adjust to it and it’s nice. Careful of some areas as people are quite loud and bad areas. Rent is expensive But I hope you love it

In the news 3 weeks ago the NZ immigration website said there was a great demand of interest from Americans who are looking to relocate to NZ, Don't know if it had to do with the political tension that we are accustom of seeing on the tube of the protesters and rioters or covid, but it did say there were some wealthy investors wanting to come down under... Well have you consider coromandel peninsula white sand beaches, hippie lifestyle free range living bit touristy in summer might be ideal place depending what your looking for...
