my cousins are the ones that own/run it. June & Vivian are such good people. Me and my mom would go out there a couple times a month. Such a neat place. Also that pot belly stove is the main heat for the place in the winter time and when it's going full-force it's super hot and you can barely stand to sit next to it. Also you sat at the same table me and my mom would sit every time we went. You're sitting in my mom's seat LOL. Also I remember me and my dad going to Goodalls as a kid.

Hello Barry. I worked at Goodall's Country Store back in the 80's with Diane and Barry before they sold out to Thortons in Middletown. Had so much fun working with your parents and your grandparents. Wish it was still there. Moved to Taylorsville and saw your grandma at her daughter Betty pottery shop. Anyway Carriss is a great place to eat love their burgers. Hello to your parents 💕

Spent summer visits with grandparents, parents and other family in Shelbyville( parents from the area, but we lived in Virginia . Those visits were special. This is great to see….love old style country stores. My husband’s dad ran small stores too, hubby grew up helping out. Great videos!

LOVE the show you need to make a return back to Henry County and stop in the town Eminence, and go to Sammy's bakery its family owned and everything is homemade fresh. By the way its open Tuesday through Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm how many bakeries are open from 7:00 to 9:00. Its awesome .👌

Ha ha Why am I getting these videos from KY in my feed? Spent 4 years at Ft. Campbell. Between the Kentucky and and the Tennesseeans my speech was totally corrupted there for a while. I did like the review, tho. Grew up in small town Missouri and the people are the same. Miss that big time. Kids nowadays just don't know what it's like to have neighbors who know you and care. Its seems like there are a lot of towns in Kentucky with "ville" in the name. I believe that the term "ville" is short for the word "village".

Barry my friend, great place & review, I prefer these places over chains anyday. You eat your biscuits,gravy, eggs like I eat them, I usually eat 3-4 split biscuits, smothered in gravy, 4 over easy eggs on top, a little hot sauce maybe, no ketchup for me though. If you are interested, I was going to post you the top 6 mom/pop chili parlors in Cinti/Northern Kentucky with signature dish, you should try them when in the area, you hit 1 of them, Price Hill Chili which was ranked 2nd but almost a tie with the 1st place, post me & let me know if interested & on this video of my comment pal . The chili parlor rankings were done by several thousand local folks, no parlor chains allowed in the poll.

Several 1000 local folks voted on mom/pop chili parlors, you can google them all, no parlor chains allowed & no more than 3 parlors unless owned by same owner(s), & 6 parlors had enough votes to be included in ranking & these will be in order from 1st place to 6th place per votes. To shorten, all 6 have the word chili after their name so I won't say chili but just name of parlor, i:e price hill , skyline , etc.. & use the word sign for signature dish.all 6 serve the norm with cheese coneys, 2-3-4-5 ways & all 6 serve variety of double Deckers, top 4 all serve breakfast & goetta, last 2 do not & some serve boom-boom sauce. I Will mention different items other than the norms if they have something(s). # 1, Camp washington & they consider their norm 5 way their sign dish, only parlor I will eat just a bowl of chili with hot sauce & oyster crackers, #2 Price Hill, was almost a tie with # 1, sign dish spicy hot mett, own hot sauce, boom-boom sauce.#3 Blue Ash, 2 parlors both in Ohio, just for you a sgn dish 6 way, a norm 5 way with a good amount of beer battered spicy jalapeño slices on it( they call them bottle caps s they look like/size of caps metal caps on old glass pop/soft drink bottles #4 pleasant Ridge, a must have before your chili dishes, crinkle fries covered in homemade beef gravy & a mound of cheese & best I have ever eaten plus a small open faced roast beef with the home made gravy & they use the gravy for the fries #5 Empress, 3 parlors, 2 in Ohio, 1 in N Ky, go to 1 in in Alexandria in N.ky, nice little 20 minute drive from interstate, sign dish a 7 in chili pizza & the dough is soft like a soft pita or tortilla & made to eat with a fork & knife, also their chix salad plate or on 1 of their D. Deckers, very 1st chili parlor to open in Cint in 1922 in downtown Cinti, Dixie & Skyline families worked for them & went out on their own. #6 Dixie, 3 parlors all in N.Ky., own hot sauce is great, made with 3 diff peppers, sign dishes, 6 way, norm 5 way with small diced fresh garlic added to make 6 way & put garlic on coneys, anything, weirdest of all, chili salad, iceberg lettuce, chili, salsa, homemade buttermilk ranch dressing, diced tomatoes, cheese, add or take away any items & does not sound good/right but huge seller & is good.1st person to break away from Empress & start the 2nd place in Newport Ky., only 1 bridge( suspension bridge) & friendly split & Dixie did not want to compete with Empress the 1st parlor to start so went across bridge to N.ky. Also large indoor aquarium 10 minutes from Dixie in Newport if your girls like those places, sharks, gators, etc,.. post me if you have any questions pal, hope this helps you
