I’ve used cardboard and paper sacks to start carrots like this...it’s more about trapping the moisture on the seed bed to give the sprouts a chance to get going

My boys want to grow carrots so we'll give this a try. It will be good if they have success the first time they try growing something to keep them interested.

Thanks for the carrot tips! We tried carrots a few different ways last year too. Like the board tip. It looks a bit more sturdy than using cardboard. Blessings.

I use cardboard. This is for beginners...unless you just keep a “carrot board” for planting carrots

Nice one Mark and I prefer sowing into light fluffy soil so the roots go deep into the ground to reach the nutrients that other vegetables never reach. Looking forward to seeing how your method works. 🥕Happy gardening, Terry King.

I’m not experienced enough or my beds in the shape to get the results you do, but gotta start somewhere. Good to see you Terry. Seems like spring slipped in and surprised us

@@ArkansasWoodcutter we are experiencing some unseasonal warm weather for March and into April so fingers crossed it continues. Our last frost date is mid May.

@@terrykingsallotmentgardening amazing how different our seasons are. I put a few tomatoes in the ground, we will be 20 C regularly in a month ...lows are 5-7, then 12-15

Some really great tips ! I have never had any luck growing carrots . The weed pressure is hard for me to deal with in the ground and in pots for some reason things seem to always happen . Have a great day !

How many days does a carrot take from seed to harvest depends mainly on variety and temperature profile while it's growing.
@ArkansasWoodcutter2 жыл бұрын
I did look it up 65-70 days, I’m assuming that is from sprout (+7-10)
