Hi Jon! Thanks for a lovely channel with well-produced episodes. As for the InCharge 6, I've had one of these for more than a year and it really is nimble. Of course, there are situations when you prefer a cable. Not least when you want to use your smartphone while simultaneously charging it. But when traveling this is a great (and lightweight) tool to keep in your EDC pouch or on your keychain ring. I rarely leave home without it.

The thing I am planning on doing to solve this problem, is to buy several adapters just to keep in my pocket, like micro to USB c, USB c to Micro, micro to lightning. Three adapters, that can be carried connected together, then have one cable which doesn't matter what "end" it has. Also, I will probably purchase a power pack that has Qi, since a lot of phones have this power transfer technology. It seems that would require the least amount of gear to carry around. The downside being the tiny adapters are far to easy to loose, and loosing some functionality (especially using Apple Products.) Having individual adapters too allows for more flexibility, because you can add an adapter when the next USB Cable is developed. Currently I have a micro to lightning, and USB c to micro, and a power pack with USB A out.

Was that my comment? Still very pleased with mine. The only thing I think could be improved is the micro-usb port being reversible. How well the micro-usb holds in place does differ from device to device. I’m pretty sure I’ve used mine for data as well but I’m not sure if all configurations support data.

Interesting product, much like yourself, I can't see myself carrying one on my keys. Although I could see myself keeping one in my EDC Wallet, this is where I think the company have missed a trick because the unique design and functions, a slightly bigger option, with a slightly longer cable would likely be a major win or even one with customisable options, i.e. for those who have no need for lightening. Definitely a company I'll be watching to see how they move forward.

there are some questions on quality here - it will be interesting to compare the X - the use-case for me here is emergency use not general use - as mentioned. Thanks for the kind words on the channel - really appreciated.

This is a very neat thing to have. I looked into this and when I opened Amazon and searched for it, the reviews put me off :( As for the content of this video review, as usual its nice and with high quality. Keep at it Jon!

Thanks Ruben for the feedback on the channel 😊 on UK Amazon it has 69% 5 star which is pretty good - as mentioned in the video I would use this for emergencies and not for general use when there is too much to go wrong
@milgeekmedia2 жыл бұрын
Yep, have one in my EDC kit, I added a couple of additional adapters just to give me options. I also bought a SPOOLY (look it up) as the only down side I find InCharge is the shortness. The main problem with mini EDC pouch set-up in the UK is the size of our plugs, so if you want to have a plug with a USB socket in it (for charging) you have to make space. The smallest folding plug I've found is still a bit chunky.

It sounded like an ideal product until you got to the loose micro-usb connector. I have several items with that type of port, so I won't be getting this product, which is a shame, because it's so compact and seems well-made. My current system is bulkier. Thank you for the review and saving me £23.

Thanks for steering me to another useful product. I did get one and like it. But the ersatz micro USB does not fit any of my micro USB devices. Still reduces the cables I need to carry and more flexible that Lever Gears cables.

I have the in charge 6 and incharge X (and incharge X Max) and just the additional dust cap on the X improves on the design as my incharge 6 suffered from pocket flint damaging the usb C port resulting in it not working (lightning port still works perfectly) only slight negative as an Android user is on the X they swapped the Usb C and lightning round... but that's it so far 🤷🏼♂️

I bought it for the lightening connection which worked on my partners iPhone12mini but not on my iPhone7+. Shame it doesn’t work on my phone as I enjoy the idea of minimal carry. Any ideas, ?? BTW Thanks Jonathon, enjoying your content, ordered two RovyVon A8x from your review. ( Could you do some reviews on tritium vials for keyrings. I’ve ordered the titanium bead from RovyVon and think it will be functional to latch on to the torch. Thanks again 😊

Slightly tangential question Jon, but I recently got the NB10000 battery too. Do you find you need to use the low/drip-power mode with your AirPods, RovyVon, etc? I imagine it’s best left off when you can, as my understanding is it simply deactivates the auto-off-when-charged sensor to stop it from misfiring.
@JonGadget2 жыл бұрын
I don't have it on for the reasons you mentioned 👍

Hello Jonathan, I want to ask you if there is no problem to Charge things like your Aurora x8 or Earbuds in normal charging Mode with the Nitecore NB10000 wich I own too because of your recommendation. I thought it is better and safer to use the low current Mode for this kind of Gear?
@JonGadget2 жыл бұрын
You should be fine it will draw what it needs. Low power is there for devices where the charging current is so low the power bank shuts off inadvertently. So if on normal mode you find the power bank shuts off then switch to low power mode. Hope that helps.

As an Android only bloke I feel the compromise of adding Lightning is a deal breaker. I'd buy USB A to C and (properly engaging) Micro, but not dodgy Micro and Lightning.
@nigelh32532 жыл бұрын
Yes, I don't understand why I need so many outputs. Just a neat USB A to good quality micro-usb would be fine for me. And if I got a usb C phone, then I could get an adaptor for that. I suppose the lightning connector could help out my friends/partner, but I'm strictly Android.

Interesting product Jonathan! Its quite comparable to my Nillkin 3 in 1 cable. However i feel both solutions are inferior to Remax RC-185th, as it can provide length and when not used it keeps less space since the cables are retractable. Plus the price is really lower.

Like the idea. But too short. I prefer single cable that “splits” to 3 - micro, usb c and lightning. I have two such cables, a short and a longer one….shorty stays in EDC pouch and longer one in the car. This way you also only need one decent charging brick to simultaneously charge up to 3 devices..
