I am a bit confused about throwing around the term "lightweight" ULA Dragonfly and Bellroy Lite are actually lightweight.
@adamcarlson49223 күн бұрын
Came here to say this. 3.5 lbs is NOT lightweight.

Osprey Archeon in green make it looks like turtle shell, I would imagine whoever carrying it at the back would be looking like ninja turtle 😂

5lbs on that Osprey? That's 1/3 of your weight allowance on most APac airlines taken up by just the empty bag. We already have durable and water resistant materials that are also lightweight. Yes, they can be more expensive, but if you value those attributes, paying $100 more for a bag you'll be using for years isn't that big a deal. Also, just like you said too much organisation is useless on travel bags, I'd argue interior lining is also useless, if you have everything in cubes & pouches. It just adds a bunch of unnecessary weight, for the sake of aesthetics that only the user gets to see. Anyway, such a heavy bag should never be encouraged by giving it an award. Quite disappointed...

Thanks for your feedback! Weight can be relative, as most US domestic carriers don't limit weight of carry-on, more dimensions. Interesting point about the lining for sure, particularly if you're a pouch aficionado. Don't forget, these are just our opinions from testing too. So with that said, what would be your choice for a carry on bag?
@houserhythm2 күн бұрын
@@CarryologyTV True, but are you making these picks just for US travellers, or for everyone? And even if allowed, a 5lbs bag is a bunch of weight you get to carry around... My preferred bags are smaller, I never use a bag over 30L. I have one-bag travel refined down to the point where I even bring tablets instead of toothpaste, just so I don't have any liquids to separate through security. I generally use a 26-ish litre bag to travel indefinitely, including a camera cube with a body and 3 lenses. And my favourite bags for that are the the ULA Dragonfly 30L (which isn't really 30L), a 26L Robic GR1, PD Travel Backpack 30L (in its un-expanded 27L form) and more rarely, cause it's getting on the heavier side, a CTB26. For shorter trips, I'm good with EDC bags, like a Bullet DC 18L, a 21L GR1, a PLC20 or an Able Carry Daily Plus... But generally there are enough great bags under or right around 3lbs, that carrying an extra 2lbs with no added benefit seems preposterous...

I'm happy to finally see someone doing an Archeon video. Given Osprey's size and reach, I can't understand why more folks don't cover the bag. It certainly looks great but I feel some of the features can be polarizing. If you're using the water bottle pocket, now you've got a piece of fabric flailing in the wind? Now you've got anything in the side pockets exposed? Desy Cheng's channel said the zippers would get stuck often which I can definitely see happening. I appreciate the different perspective you've offered though with emphasis on the modular system as I have the Archeon sling already. I think I need to see more reviews to form an opinion as I haven't been able to find one in person to look at myself. Loving the awards though so keep up the good work!

Because it is the only one close to being lightweight, I would vote for Matador for readers choice. But again, the rest of these bags are useless for carry on because they are too heavy
