It's a cool video, but it is incredibly stupid and reckless at the beginning, and contributes to the negative stigma some drivers have towards cyclists. No one should be doing this. The roads belong to everyone and should be used safely, it should not be used as your racing track. Any slight mistake made by or the drivers, and you could've caused some serious accident here.

I agree. 10 years riding in Berlin and 12 in Mexico City - Mexican drivers are way more chill than in Berlin. My guess is, apart from not being able to drive fast anyway in a car in that traffic, they are always expecting weird things to happen in the streets. Motorcycles, rolling trashcans (!), dogs etc. They have accepted to share the streets with all kinds of things - they're not as territorial as in Western countries.

I would agree with you, and indeed there were very sketchy moments. But I see a big difference between this and stuff the likes of Terry B's monster track videos. The difference is that Safa stays in traffic the whole time, he's quite only risking himself like everyone else on traffic with any vehicle, and he's risking less other people than a reckless car driver because you can only do so much damage with a bike. Meanwhile those other types of stuff I mentioned go into pedestrians all the time and even yell at them to stay off their line, actually being a danger and feeling entitled to being one. They are infuriating. This is just anxiety fuel.
