Toyota might be the most reliable vehicle brand, no argue on that. The problem that I have with Toyota is the arrogance of their cars dealers. They wait for you to come in thinking that you are buying a vehicle brand that exceeds all buyers expectations and lay back asking for ridiculous market up prices. Also for their latest models their car seats comfort is not good. There are other brands that are also reliable and you might be able to go to the dealer and get a fair deal. For me Toyota will be the last vehicle that I will buy. I am now only buying Subarus and Mazda. So far not a single issue why my choices.

I recently bought a 2024 Camry but went with the XSE V6. I don't put a ton of miles on my cars so while fuel economy was a consideration but performance and mechanical simplicity / reliability were higher on my wish list. The Camry Hybrid also uses a CVT transmission which I would rather avoid. I did test drive a 2024 Mazda 3 hatchback with the manual transmission. I liked it, but I am 6 foot 4 and being a larger car the Camry was more comfortable for me. The same goes for the 2024 Honda Civic. I drove a hatchback with the turbo and a manual transmission. It would have been kind of tight for me but okay if the seats weren't so aggressively bolstered. I didn't want anything to do with Kia, Hyundai, or Chrysler and the Accord now only comes with a 4-cylinder so at the end of the day the Camry was the only sedan that checked all of my boxes. I have never owned or even driven a car that can do 0-60 in under 9 seconds so the 300 horsepower in the Camry was kind of a bucket list thing even though I don't drive fast or aggressively.

My 2010 Mazda 5 was highly rated by consumer reports (90+ score) when I bought it new in October 2010. I had it until February 2024 when I bought a new car and gave it to a family member. Everything they said about it turned out to be pretty much accurate. I put 70,000 miles on it and my only problems were with the rear shocks which wore out quickly and the AC compressor failed. It was a perfectly adequate car and was good value for money, but after 14 years I wanted something that had modern safety features, more comfort, and more power. Fortunately it's new owner is a family member who lives 2 miles from me and I can always borrow it if I need to go to the hardware store to pick up some long pieces of lumber or a new lawn mower.

Just traded in my 2013 Crosstrek Premium with 175,000 miles for a Corolla Cross Hybrid. I'm not sure sure a CCH is even close to the Corolla even though it is built on the same platform. They aren't even built in the same factory but the new Mazda CX50 is built on the same assembly line at a joint venture factory in Huntsville Alabama. They rated them at 99 as I recall saying it was the best car they ever tested. Then they decided they dislike Musk so now the car sucks. CR is not credible due to their biases.

Major problem with the Ford Mustang's Mach - E trunk. There is NO drain. Any rain water that get in there stays. The trunk is slopped so any water run forward on to the car floor.

Seems that circa 30mpg is considered good in the USA. Similar European cars have double that. Why are American cars so thirsty?😳

Toyota is collaborating with a few other automakers these days. Obviously BMW with the Supra, and Subaru with the AE86/BRZ/FRS, but they are supposedly in cahoots with Mazda as well, they have a joint plant in Alabama that produces the Toyota Corolla Cross and the Mazda CX-50.

Agreed. We have owned a Ford minivan (way back in the day) and a Ford pickup. The van had multiple issues. Everything inside cabin kept breaking , engine troubles, etc. The truck’s clutch failed within 2 years….. since then, we buy Japanese vehicles. Our Honda Odyssey is 20 years old and still going strong! Looking to buy another Honda SUV.

Believe Consumer Reports on Vehicles to your own peril. CR as as most people are concerned is Public Relations department of Toyota. Notice their half clever report on Prius.. " it has poor visibility" but that's not count in their so called Review of Prius. But if this observation is about America or European car, it would be seen as a major flaw.

i read about arrogance from Toyota and I agree. Years ago we bought a new car from them and the radio failed 2 months later. They would not switch it from another new idle vehicle on the lot. ….six months later for a new radio. Vendor out of present stock, was the excuse.

But really this is an “ad” that tests nothing and proves nothing. It’s just someone editing available video and reading what Consumer Reports wrote in their annual car test publication. This isn’t an authority on anything it’s just using some organization’s report and telling us, against the Va drop of stock, public video of cars. It isn’t an in depth reoort, it’s jut editing in the domain video and telling us what CR said. YT is full of this. My personal fav are the guys who do weather reports in their basement.

Also, I have a car with adaptive cruise control and I considered this and lane hold, must have features, and this wasn’t mentioned anywhere in this video? PS: My car with adaptive cruise and lane hold is a 2017 Toyota RAV4 XLE, which I bought new in March of 2017. Would never buy a car without these features.

Consumer Reports no longer has as much credibility as it did in years past. I learned that when I bought a new VW Passat in 2000, based on CR. Great looking design. But the worst car I ever had in terms of reliability - including all the used vehicles I've had. Subsequent years of other owner experiences proved VW quality to be in the dumpster too.

I used to trust CR until I bought a 2020 Camry in Dec of 2020. CR gave high ratings on the Camry though Toyota were replacing tens of thousands of engines, transmission problems among other issues. Toyota left the engine problems for the customers to find and tried to hide it. I should have realized there were problems with the cars when there were so many 2020's on the lots. Before 2016 when I tried to find a end of the year deal all the Camry's were sold out or spoken for. My 2020 Camry ruined a 30 year trust of Toyota products. The 2018 Camry was the start of the Toyota problems and it's been going downhill since.
