I've purchased two brand new RTs... a 2006 model that now has over 200K miles on it; and a 2016 model coming up on 75K miles. The RT is the best bike ever made. Trust me.

So pleased to hear that! Just got a new R1250 like the one in the video. Sounds like I made the right decision!

I find myself being attracted to the previous RT but especially to this new RT. And so I realise I'm getting old.

It sort of looks like it sits taller than previous model years. The cylinder heads also appear to not protrude out as much?

Hey, at 70 years of age, my juices still flow for this bike. I just might get rid my current rides, and fill the resulting void with a 2020 RT. Will be visiting at least one dealer over the course of the next couple of months :)

Good to see the fairing is no longer obstructing wind flow to the cylinders.

Wow, I was fully expecting a new dash display utilizing the tech from the GS.

I admit I'm 62 years young, but don't think the RT is for "Old" guys. I recently had my 2002 out on Gratin Raceway in Michigan for a BMW Day's Ride and Learn. (Awesome experience!)

Me too, i was glad to order my new R1200GS (2018) with the analog dash, i don't like the digital one. Analog clocks give you a much more and quick impression of information, withoud the flickering of digits.

You're gonna need a lot of good luck if you continue flying around those blind corners at this pace, dude. Or does that thing have some kind of corner radar?

I love my 16 R1200RT but I wish my headlights were more visible than they are. All my friends say they can't see my lights. The fancy round led lights are are not very visible till dusk . Wish BMW would think of adding more safety lights front and rear. For a touring bike if you look at the rear there's a whole lot of space with a whole lot of nothing And yes I have reflective high viz. Colors and all kind of stuff on the back of my bike but certainly I'm sure they could class it up with some nice LED lights running down the back side of the panniers. Just food for thought their BMW. Thanks for sharing that video can't wait to get back on the bike

Brother I feel the same way, great motorcycle but not keeping up with the technology out there. I added Clearwater Erica's LED lighting and it's a whole new world of people seeing me and me being able to see, 12k lumens on high, fully adjustable through canbus controlled by wonder wheel.

@@boatster779 Those are definitely very nice I leave tomorrow for my 12 thousand mile service.I will say 12000 miles has passed and this bike has ran flawlessly just an incredible machine. That's not to say you can't find one that was made on a Friday or Monday think mine was made on a Wednesday😉 .Take care

Still waiting !! Whats new on the 2019, I saw nothing new. How about switching it up with new LED lighting like all the new bikes & cars have? Or blind spot sensors, auto tinting rear view mirrors to block the lights these new cars have.Their still bulbs for the headlamps and they suck if you want to see!! You have to spend over $1000 dollars for clearwater lights so I can see and be seen!! For a 25k for a motorcycle, I think there being cheep not upgrading to new technology. Positive note: Motorcycle performs awesome, just wish they would catch up on the technology. thumbs down vote. I do love my RT 2016 116k miles on it. Be they to step up on technology!!

David Boatman Perhaps some of what you’re suggesting will appear on the 2020... My intentions, at least my desire, is to treat myself with a new R 1250 RT for my 70th birthday!!

Perceived obsolescence, just like everything nowadays. All the developments are ready but only one or two is released each year, so we feel "obsolete" and keep changing to "new" models. Few years ago I purchased a 1996 R1100RT with 100K kilometers on it and she was PERFECT: electric windshield, ABS, heated grips and seats, everything working fine. The only reason I've sold it was the hard-to-find 18 inch rear tire. Of course the evolution of gearbox, engine and suspension are great changes but IMHO it´s not necessary to change a bike like this each two years.

The k1600gt is a better choice. Better engine and nicer for two up riding. The rt is a bit short for 2 up riding. I have owned both and dont see another bike I would trade for my gt.
