The Hyundai iLoad is no more - now, there's the Staria Load, a passenger van-derived commerical vehicle that is bigger, bolder and brighter than the old Hyundai van that came before it.
The 2022 Staria Load is aiming up directly at the Toyota HiAce, VW Transporter and Ford Transit Custom, offering class-leading levels of safety and technology. It has a bigger cargo capacity than its predecessor, is more cleverly packaged and thoughtfully designed, and is going to push the best in this class for usability, too.
With a turbo diesel engine, an eight-speed automatic and front-wheel drive underpinnings this time around, the new model is more efficient on paper than the existing iLoad, too.
But is it any good? Matt Campbell spent some time with the 2022 Hyundai Staria Load to find out.

Test drove it. Loved it but that front is just horrible. And why can’t they make all wheel drive an option for the van and why is there no three seat option or central console or at least an arm rest? I normally upgrade to every new Hyundai van as they come out since 2008. Not this time

I have a 2022 model in Jamaica, which is semi cargo (crew seats and cargo area). It didn't come with a reverse camera system. How could I obtain a car play system with reverse camera?

Mate your talking about those "safety" features as though it's something people want. We don't want it and it costs us money to delete it at a tuning shop. Nothing but am annoyance and a very dangerous one at that

Epic van, I use it as a daily, mega easy to park with all the cameras. I got an m3 tourer coming and I think the van will remain as the daily😂, I love it

Shocking for square objects like bread creates! Especially with a cargo barrier as the sliding doors only open halfway so even less with a cargo barrier. Way to much door space lost !

It looks good overall, and should be pretty durable being a Hyundai, but having halogen headlights mounted so low is surely going to warrant some form of upgrade, unless you like hitting things in the dark.

Just to add to the comment made regarding "good for parcel delivery" at 4:21. This van would definitely not be ideal even for consideration for parcel delivery due to the internal volume, given the typical consignment volume hits around 800kg or 200 parcels of up to 20kg and given that the staria load has a volume restricting load barrier.

It won't beat the Hiace on reliability and reputation how many Hiaces do you see driving around 10 20 and 30 year old Toyota Hiaces still driving around many years ago l owned a Toyota Liteace and it came with a folding back seat did take up some space when folded but it was handy for courier work and l do own a 1997 Toyota Hilux has 430000 kms on it Toyota reliability can't beat it

$45,000 !! for SWB low roof van ! You can get a LDV V80 for $30,000 Plus the V80 has style unlike the potato.

I'm interested in an electric van ..but it would need to be 6WD, 6WS large van / SUV, under $50K. People love 4WD SUVs, an AWD electric van could be the next step ?

I tool LDV for s test drive and asked few people had them, at last go for staria, as LDV had lots of small problems here and there, plus I can see lots of V80 in the workshop or parked outside to getting sort it out, so no for me

I’d still prefer a Toyota - the front end look is awful and a bit 60’s - wouldn’t trust an electric park brake when the power goes - hopefully Hyundai has fixed the transmission issues of the previous generation - the side door profile looks weird - I would still choose this over a Ford or Renault/Mitsubishi that both have poor reliability and service culture - John in SA
