Just trade in my Tucson 2.0 CRDI Elite for the RAV 4 2.5 AWD VX. Both top of the range models in SA. What I miss from the Tucson is the torque of the diesel engin and fuel consumption. What I don't miss about the Tucson is the noise of the diesel engin at low speeds and the smoke that you could see in your mirror on acceleration. The panoramic roof also had a nasty rattle and the six speed automatic gearbox in the 2017 model is not refined. What I love about the Rav 4 is the extra room in the boot when camping and the feeling you get when get in behind the steering wheel. It's soft touch material and in my opinion the person that have designed the gear knob did a great job. For me the Tucson interior felt cheap. The Toyota do feel a bit bigger on the inside as well. The kids enjoy the USB fast chargers at the back of the Toyota which is not equipped in the Tucson. The Toyota 2.5 engin is a bit noisy on hard acceleration, but is quite for normal driving. There are two other aspects that I have taken into consideration when I have decided to change. 1: The service that I get from my local dealers, and 2: The brand with the perceived best retail value. I have battled with the Hyundai dealers from day one and the technical support in our area is pathetic. In South Africa, Toyota outsell Hyundai probably 3:1 (might even be more) , Kia is not even in the picture and the day you want to sell your vehicle it really shows. Some gerages don't even want to look at your Tucson. Toyota dealerships are everywhere and parts not an issue. For me it's an important factor.

I drive a current model Prado every day as my work vehicle and it is no where near as comfortable, refined in steering, handling and ride comfort on road as my son's 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee despite being no better off road and it drinks more diesel for far less power - yet they claim 'best in class'. A co-worker had a Tuscon 2-3 years ago. I think that she would have set it on fire and pushed it off a cliff if she could.

Why not mention RAV was noted as the most dangerous small SUV for likelihood of roll over when corning due to it's high profile. Seem somewhat biased review if you ask me.

But it wasn't when it was tested by safety standards, and I'm not sure anyone is actually driving their CUV that fast at a turn, lmaoo

Don’t get me in or label me for being super critical. But 30 seconds in and you are comparing one Toyota and the Kia and Hyundai (which I sensually the same model building same factory with very minor differences)… Do you think we are idiots…? And that’s all I watched of your video

CRV? Tiguan? Pfft! I’d take a Bentley Bentayga myself over all of these.

Yeah, Bentleys are a steal. At least that's the only way I'd be able to get one.

Mazda CX-5 fully loaded Turbo has lag and then it jumps forward harshly when the throttle finally engages and is slow accelerating compared to how powerful it claims to be, but maybe the one I test drove had regular 87 octane instead of premium 93 octane gas, but even still the ventilated seats were loud and didn't work as well as the much quieter kia ventilated seats and the Mazda Bose audio system is not as good as the Kia Harmon Kardon audio system!
@dirtygore4 жыл бұрын
Bullshit. And the mazda has more power and torque than both the kia and the Hyundai. Also the mazda doesn't have fake exhaust like the kia.

is the Rav 4 cvt in Australia?
@kbling29465 жыл бұрын
You say the RAV4 is better because of boot space but for me it’s the opposite. The RAV is punching out of the small/medium class into large and that’s useless for people like me who are looking for a smaller SUV. Just look at the transition of the RAV through the generations, the 2030 RAV will be the size of a school bus and you motoring jurno’s will continue to rave about how good it is 🤦🏽♂️
