Something car reviewers never seem to talk about is the front seats. Like do you feel you're sitting in them or just on them? Also from a guys perspective what about the depth from front to the back of the seat base, how much thigh support do you get. This really impacts the driving comfort.
@ScottMurrayBestFamilyCars3 жыл бұрын
Exactly how is a tall skinny dude like Richard supposed to inform a short, overweight person of those impossibly subjective aspects? You need to test the seats for yourself.

That's only if you service within the dealer network. That doesn't mean you can't service at an independent mechanic; you can and Mitsubishi cannot void your five-year warranty. They just offer you more if you service in-house.

It's a beautiful car but 1. Not much storage compartments inside, the ones provided are very small, with lots of useable space not used. 2. The lane asist is accessed through a complicated setting menu, not a stearing wheel button like most cars. 3. The bonnet does not slant downwards so it's kinda in your face limiting visibility when trying to park 4. Yes visibility all round is generally poor, 5. True suspension is very firm, not comfy. 6. The dash board volume button does not have backlights so invisible when driving at night 7. The adaptive cruise control is not adaptive. It does not respond to cars in front quickly enough. It will stop if the car in front stops then disengage cruise control and start moving forward - not safe and pathetic - unlike other cars where the car stops and even alerts you when the car in front moves. 8. But it looks cool

Watching from the UK, Mitsubishi sadly is no longer trading here. $50,000 Aus for the top trim Outlander is a bargain compared to UK prices, we'd be paying well over £40k! Even the base trim would be around £30k! That's too much when average salary is under £30k per annum in UK.

Lots of silly comments in an effort to be funny. Go check it out for yourself. I did and signed up for the Tourer. We need a new category for a large mid size suv. Unless I’m mistaken the 10 yr warranty and capped price servicing is the best in the industry. Sure that requires dealer servicing but can you blame them! Best value around I think. Styling is subjective but personally I like the bold front - each to their own. Not too much you can do to dress up a big box. Now I’ve just got to wait 10 months for it to arrive 😍

I think Mitsubishi actually has been clever with choice of materials allowing them to keep costs down. The other Japanese are changing things up leading to increased prices. Toyota is one step up on the cost ladder. Although Mazda is a very high selling here and it would seem it's quantity above all else, they've dramatically changed their choice of materials in the last two years leading to unavoidable price hikes. Their new focus is increasing market share in the US by way of moving up the ladder choosing materials such as nappa leather rather than suede and lesser materials. Mitsubishi must be commended here. To build this for the price is fairly good.

13:22 with CVT's you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. Given a CVT is a pulley system based on ratio of engine shaft speed to driveshaft speed, there shouldn't really be a gear. But a true technical implementation of a CVT is so damn noisy and isn't really nice to drive which is why most car makers have given up on doing it correctly, and instead putting in fake steps (gear like). Ironically this also means that CVT's that step are really more focused on driver sanity than the technical aspects of optimising the transmission for fuel efficiency and power delivery. They're really awesome in < 1000kg Japanese Kei cars (which is probably the original source for this madness). From these, it made its way into most Japanese marques. Notably though. it's the drivability compromises of a CVT that made Mazda state they would never have a CVT in any of their cars (except the rebadged Kei cars they sell in the Japanese domestic market).
@warcrabcyber99083 жыл бұрын
Cvt transmissions are improving , I also cannot stand the old cvt causing the engine to be constantly reving, As well as the rubber band effect the cvt in this outlander is one of the best because it keeps the suv in a low Rev range consistently, while still maintaining all the benefits of a cvt. Jatco transmissions are not as good as Toyota, but Mitsubishi tunes their jatco transmissions much better than Nissan so it does not break like a Nissan.

The Escape has always been the drivers SUV, has the most power as well. The Rav4 can't tow anything and its pricey, it is the most frugal in Hybrid form though. Hi Congratulations on your purchase This is a stunning new vehicle. The interior is fun and has a premium feel plus with all its storage including huge door pockets it's great. We test drove new Outlander at the weekend and had nothing to complain about. The suspension can be sporty and firm but always comfortable, soaked up all the bumps with aplomb. The fuel consumption over city roads and motorways averaged at 8.1 litres for us. The third row of seats it's designed for children only and that's fine. A 10 year warranty is a huge bonus if you're planning to keep the vehicle that long though most people don't, Mitsubishi has a reputation for durability and reliability otherwise they wouldn't offer an industry leading warranty. It's crammed with the best and latest technologies which is convenient and safe. Too bad this reviewer didn't take his job seriously when test driving this excellent new generation of Outlander. The superseded model was always a popular car, I think the third most popular SUV in its class and this all new generation model will continue that success, be sure that even the likes of the overrated RAV4 or that soft and feminine Mazda what-ever-it-is will be concerned, both of these manufacturers charge like a bull. Anyway we're heading back to our local Mitsubishi dealer on the weekend to do a deal. Just saying

wheelsize and low profile tyres is a harsh ride, smaller wheels with higher profile are much better. tyre quality a big factor, cheap versions are appauling especially in the wet. they would be better off spending on better quality tyres rather than bigger wheels. noone seems to mention the tyre brand/model/type, just the wheel size, very strange. two reasons for an SUV, ride height for easy access and ability to carry stuff, but they all have smaller boots than sedan/wagon equivalents, very strange. a hatch back like mazda 6 that had a park mode height increase and lowered for driving would be a better design concept.
