Whereas passenger cars and SUVs are refreshed every four or five years with a new-generation model, utes often have a much longer shelf life. This doesn’t mean customer expectations are changed, though, as new pick-ups should still have the latest and greatest in safety and specification.
So, what is a brand meant to do when their all-new pick-up model is still years away?
In Nissan’s case, it means the 2021 Navara workhorse has received a light reworking with new looks, reshuffled pricing and more standard safety.
Despite being on the market in its current-generation form since mid-2015, do these new changes make the Navara a worthy contender against market favourites Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger.

Absolutely love my new navara. Picked it up 2 days ago and i can honestly say its the best duelcab ute ive owned. Chuck an idrive on it and the throttle really wakes up.

Just picked up my new SL 4x4 . That is after testing many makes. Happy with how it drives and handles . Engine is fine with twin turbo no lag. Additional sound deadning as well as revised rear diff and brakes , springs etc has made a real difference. Being a 5th gen np300 alot has been sorted. A lack of footrest in this model and the volume knob on the wrong side as well as the manual shift mode on the incorrect side is annoying. Lack of accessories available at this time due to upgraded specs is also a pain. This will sort itself over time . The placement of the ecu makes it hard to fit a snorkel compared to other makes. The sl model has the diff lock as well as Android auto. Price has risen about 5k . Having the true 1 tonne payload now is a great tax benifits. No FBT applicable. Hence my purchase as I couldn't live with leaf springs. Can barely live with drums on the rear. I wouldn't say the brakes are strong in my personal experience in a week's worth of driving it without any mods or additional weight. I would find the brakes lacking with a bigger load.

have they changed their design on the rack and pinion of NISSAN? it is actually common issues or problems from NISSAN Philippines, NISSAN coming from Thailand

It’s also worth mentioning that the cup holders underneath the air vents have disappeared, so you’ve got handy features being removed yet the price being increased? This is why Nissan’s sales are so bad right now

Not sure where your getting your info from Nissan sales are through the roof. Dealers can’t keep up with demand.

The navara is more of a lifestyle pick up truck. While in australia there’s so many off road situations so probably that’s why.

What’s the reliability, durability and longevity like on these Navaras?

I owned a 2016 Navara for 3 years, here's my experiences: - lost 50% in value in 3 years, only had 26xxx kms on the clock. - seat foam collapsed under drivers seat. - paint is paper thin & is prone to chips/scratches. - engine pulleys whining just when it ran out of warranty. - gutless engine. Needed more torque. - service cost is high Other than that, had no reliability issues. Driving wise - The rear end of the car felt loose, especially in the wet. Felt dangerous to drive. My honest opinion, was glad to get rid of it. Won't ever buy another Navara again

200 series has around 610 kg’s of payload. Once you factor in the ball weight of what you are towing it could down to as much as 450 kg’s of payload. A Xterrain Dmax has 320kgs to play with or the base model has around 420kgs not including the ball weight when towing 3500kgs. Maybe a Y62 Patrol??

Way over priced, Nissan are a joke. This is a Ute that constantly finishes last in all the Ute comparisons, yet they think they can tack 10 grand onto the price and all they’ve done is a new steering wheel and a front grill ? 😂 The triton is a better Ute and it’s almost 10 grand less No wonder nobody buys navaras 😂😂
@k9-unit-australia275
@k9-unit-australia275 3 жыл бұрын
Another misinformed idiot. The triton comes in just above the gwm & sangyong in all reviews. The navara is always in the top 5 or lowest seven depends on who done the review
