Such a great looking Double Cab, maybe even one of the best looking, but you are quickly let down when you step inside the vehicle which looks more than dated. Seems like Nissan focused on the exterior and had no budget available to improve the interior experience.

I love these type of comments. I think we all can agree ALL utes should have at least 500kw and 3000nm because we love to tow our 3.5T trailers @ 200kmh going up a 40 degree incline with 2000kg in the load bin. The extra power comes in handy when you need to overtake in those conditions!

Good review production all round. I love that lazy lizard cameo. What is is that? Here in South Africa they introduced the model with a twin turbo 2.5d but the same output as the 2.3d, which I love. I reckon they missed a good opportunity to at least eat into the popular Wildtrak market with bit more grunt.

some confusion here and other places are now saying this engine has "sequential" turbo chargers in the bi-turbo format (similar to the 2.0L in-line 4cyl in Ranger where its a smaller faster spinning turbo then switching to a larger VGT type up high), have Nissan changed it from the previous "twin turbo (re: same sized turbos) designs for the generation Navara? Would like to know if that is the case or not. As for the Navara itself, it's now in it's "5th" version of the original NP300 and Nissan still can't get the rear suspension right even with the previous upgrade (which is now 2 years ago) switch to dual rate springs, the problem is the basic "panhard rod" 5 link design which can never be balanced the right way to be either too soft (sag but great ride) or too stiff (no sag but bumpy ride) because of the lateral movement of the panhard rod which offers no support of the differential, the interior is a shambles also which is a shame however the rest of the Navara itself for the most part is ok, from my viewpoint the Triton is ahead of the Navara even with this upgrade t the Navara in terms of styling. Looking forward to the future Navara/Triton twins with Mitsubishi taking the lead development work which should improve the Navara rear suspension issues by going back to good ol leaf springs and adding Super Select II AWD/4x4 High/4x4 Low options for the Navara.
@carsguide3 жыл бұрын
Twin turbo, mate. That suspension set-up went well but I was carrying a load onboard and towing that camper the whole time. You make a stack of good points, including about Super Select II. Thanks for watching and commenting. - Crafty
@351tgv3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for clearing that up that the engine has the same twin turbo (both turbo's are same size working at the same time) as other reviews are saying different size turbo working at different engine rev bands, so basically it's the same engine as it started out with with the NP300. Yeah I think Mitsubishi will lift the Navara right up just like how Ranger will make the Amarok so much better then it is right now as a solo platform. Just on Android Auto, I had issues with Sync 3 when using Android 9 and 10 but since Android 11 those issues have gone away due to the way the MTP protocol has changed to allow Android Auto without having to allow it permission to allow file and service system access, using Android 09 based mobile and the issue shows up, my advice is if have ability to do so use Android Developer settings to lock the device into MTP / Android Auto always on mode and that will clear up issue when connecting your device to a multi media device as permissions are set to open.

Was this literally a paid-for-by-Nissan infomercial????? The list of flaws in the current Navara are no mystery. I'm sure the ute performed well enough, but there wasn't a single negative observation from our "expert"? Other reviews & tests have been pretty critical of this platform.... (Conflict of interest is real?)
@ilikethisnamedoyou3 жыл бұрын
These are definitely biased paid adverts. Nissan does not allow a review they cannot oversee, look at how long they took to allow the review and other 4wd shows who are more brutally honest not allowed a test car. Everyone should take their own independent approach with these utes. This review stunk of paid advertising.
@carsguide3 жыл бұрын
@@ilikethisnamedoyou I hate to burst your bubble, mate, but this was not "paid advertising". I've never been involved in anything of the sort. If you don't agree with the content of a review, that's fine, but don't fall back on lazy accusations and wild conjecture as the basis of your argument. I don't agree with you, and I know that what you claim is untrue, but I still appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. - Crafty

@Simon Barnett Firstly, thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, mate. I appreciate it. Secondly, avoid using lazy "paid-for" accusations and instead pay a bit more attention. You really think Nissan would pay me to advertise their utes? With that towed load this Navara did well on this test and on those road and track surfaces. @@carsguide Thanks Crafty. I'm no lazier than anyone else (but I guess sitting on my butt watching YT is pretty lazy). But ..."pay more attention..."? Seriously? Get stuffed, I'm not copping that - I'm currently in the market for a new d/c 4wd ute. It will be a big spend for me & I take these reviews very, very seriously. I watch them with forensic attention to detail because I (foolishly) trust they are made with absolute independence. You can't tell me there wasn't a single thing you thought could have been designed or built better? Forget dopey brand allegiances - I don't have any. I just know every vehicle has something that wasn't done as well as expected. Nissan Australia threw a dummy spit when another, more hardcore, channel panned their Navara. They had a sook about it & refused to give them another test vehicle 12 months later. But they can't hide on the internet. Crafty if your so defensive about accusations of biased or rose-tinted reporting, why don't you prove it beyond doubt? Post a video outlining the advertising contracts (and the fine print) currently in place between Nissan Australia & CG ?? And include any briefings, conditions or "guidances" given to CG when that Navara was sent to you for the tow story. And while your at it, outline any & all perks, kick-backs, junkets, lunches, dinners, xmas parties, trips & expenses paid for by Nissan in the last....say...5 years?

This format is old and tired. Give me the real meat AND potatoes. Don't tell me all the things I can quickly find from the manufacturer's website, tell me the good and bad compared to something else. Telling me the seats are wonderful and lovely, whist going over rutted terrain and sounding like you're talking through fan blades, just leaves me to believe you can't say anything bad or the man behind the camera will take the keys and leave you stranded. Evolve or die, pointless media format.
