carsland - radiator springs racers ride breakdown / evacuation ... twice! (6/17/12)

we were pretty lucky to wait about an hour to get on the ride, and normally stand by line is about 2 and a half hours. during the race part of the ride, our car suddenly stops, but the car next to us keeps going. we get escorted out by cast members to get seated on the next available ride. the beginning of the ride went smoothly until we were about to head into the cave, then it stopped again. we were out in the heat again for a good 5 minutes until a cast member had to escort us out again. on our way out a cast member had said it was a "severe malfunction", we never got any other info on it, but it looked like we saw firemen with tool bags coming while we were walking out. oh well, it happens. they gave us fast passes to go back onto the ride when it got fixed that day, but we never got to use them.

I am an avid "Disney-goer" and have been on the ride multiple times (I have an annual pass) and I have friends who are pretty high up in Disney and the problems that they have been having with the ride is that it is entirely run on computers. They have an algorithm that just does not seem to be quite right yet. It broke down 4 times on opening day. (I was there but had a fast pass) So, got on quickly & avoided the breakdowns. It is still a new ride BUT VERY fun! Hope you folks can get on it soon

Shayna S. I'm actually a Space Mountain CM and I rode this a week after it opened at like 2 in the morning with some friends and, I kind of learned the way it works. Kind of cool. A lot less complicated than a rollercoaster.

Don't use beep sound when the car stops. It's supposed to slow down when it's dark and there's Mack, Minny and Van

It is totally fine! :) An algorithm is a math problem/method/process that is followed by calculations or other problem-solving operations, by a computer...it decides...how each car color is mixed up (the order of the cars), which car will win, which car will go first....that kind of stuff. So, the thing that my friend has been told is that the ride itself is not completely done. Like it is safe....but some things need to be updated already.

This ride would close so often when I was there two weeks ago. Maybe when I'm there on Wednesday I'll be lucky enough to evacuate it ;D

I was on this the other night, and after I got off the ride, it broke down, I was lucky I rode it before it broke down

In the 18th of this month (I was at Cars Land not the actual ride) the ride malfunctioned again but from what I heard the people were stuck for over half an hour. Thankfully for me though instead of getting in line for the ride I decided to have lunch from the fruit stand.

yeah, i just checked out my mousewait app, and it currently says closed on it. i wonder what the major malfunction was.

Oh man! i hear this one breaks often... not as much as it did but still... if it helps, you can watch a video of the ride!! not as fun but it gives you a peak on what it's like!

Yeah it hasn't broken down on me since this incident. Still is one of my favorites especially if the lines aren't that long.

I think they should manage lanes, like allow only a certain number of people at a time maybe... would defineately ease the stress. i also hear this ride is run by computers so of course there'd be glitches. they haven't had a refurbishment/maintenance ever for this ride. I hope they do soon otherwise guests are going to be dissapointed! I'm going there next month... any tips would be great

I waited 2 hours for the raft ride and some A hole jumped off the ride and they shut it down. I was so mad and hungry
