This happened to me....the service consultant had me do a system hard software reboot. This is done with the car turned on...hold the bar below the display down. I was told to continue holding the bar down past the screen cleaning mode until the screen goes blank and the Volvo name comes up again...then release the bar. Then just let it do it's thing until everything comes up again. (about 20-30 seconds). It fixed my problem.

This is what I did however it did not work. Someone mentioned having to do it twice but that seems odd that that would fix it compared to one time.

If infotainment system goes silent or there are problems with the sound quality you can easily fix it by pushing the home button under the infotainment screen some 20 seconds. When screen goes black it will start itself again. That can be done while driving. I have had my XC60 8T now couple of weeks and I love it. Luckily I haven’t had any problems with infotainment, but my earlier Google Volvo needed reset couple of times.

That didn't work for this vehicle. If it did, it wouldn't have been as big of a deal but the issue I experienced was a very big problem considering the car had to sit for several hours before returning to normal.

@@CarsMadeSimple Sometimes you have to do the soft reset of the Android Automotive system TWICE in a row (don't know why, but this was the advice I got from Volvo Care and it works!)

I collect my 2025 Ultra T8 (UK) on Friday. Bright dusk and dark theme too, but 21” wheels not those 22s. I can’t wait

Neighbor has a new XC60. Beautiful. But has also had issues with the sound system that the dealer has not been able to resolve. We drive a 2016 v60 with 40 k miles that we love. Just had it in to repair an issue with the BLIS system which resulted in a $2,300 repair. Disappointed. Wish they didn’t require premium fuel on the new models. Thanks for another great review Justin!

I bought the xc60 t6 hybrid awd black edition plus with pilot assist and 360 camera, however when i am on autobahn and the speed limit changes from 120 to 80 kms, even by pressing the plus button the speed just doesn't change. Also no automatic speed limit change too. Do you know why such a behaviour? Even my mild hybrid qashqai qould correct the speed limit by tapping the plus button once! I am devastated, please help if you can.

Any issues i have had with the sound, auto wipers and even the air suspension have been fixed by parking the car, turning it off getting out and locking the car for a few minuets then re opening sems to re set it every time. ive had 3 xc60 now. i should add this happens maybe once a year.

The car looks like it has low profile tires. How was the ride in the potholes?

Can you switch between drive modes using Google Assistant voice commands?
@CarsMadeSimple5 ай бұрын
Good question. I didn't try that but my guess would be no.
@alexshapley83315 ай бұрын
You can't on the 2023 model - and it is a faff to have to go into the screen to change drive modes... The only time I ever want to do this (as I normally just drive in Hybrid mode) is when I want to change to Constant AWD or Off-Road - the older Volvo XCs had a physical button which was a much better way of doing things.

What about the intelligent speed assist? The configurator said it has it but in the options/settings i could not find it at all

Same body style for many years, probably best to wait a year or two for the next generation.
@plastiquemaraj88393 ай бұрын
There wont be a new generation. It’s gonna be like the xc90. They are gonna make the ev version ex60 (in 2026) and then release an updated facelift of this xc60 to keep it fresh until they discount it forever. Just like they did with xc90. Thankfully Volvos age extremely well so I don’t think it matters that much

This is a press vehicle so it gets used and abused. It was missing that small trim piece but was getting fixed after my loan.

What is the difference between the 2024 and 2025 that you are reviewing? The model we are seeing looks exactly like the 2024 model. I was hoping that you would have shown what changed/was added for the 2025 edition.
@CarsMadeSimple4 ай бұрын
There were no changes other than Ultimate -> Ultra trim.

👍 sometimes you have to reboot the android automotive system TWICE! Not trying to teach you to suck eggs, but hold the home button until the Volvo logo comes up (usually takes 20-30 seconds), don't just take your finger off the button when the screen goes blank... The only times I have needed to do this has been within a couple of days after I have updated the software, so I'm blaming Google/Android for this glitch!

Volvo successfully made sure nobody will ever figure out, or care, what it’s called. And that’s too bad because these are rather good vehicles.
