We needed to buy another car semi urgently, we had our previous vehicle for 10 years and we had watched quite a few reviews before viewing one in real life. This car is a huge step up for someone like us. We noticed all reviews try to focus on the negative, and how well it handles a chicane at twice the speed limit, or how fast the 0-60 speed is etc... We wasn't going to buy this car due to the reviews we had seen, but after actually sitting in one and going for a drive it's great! For the average person who just need a car which is safe and can get to point A to B, and you're not interested in the 1/4 mile drag race performance etc it's hard to beat... I'd recommend taking one for a drive and make your own mind up.

I got a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek sport in a very cool Green color. I got it about a week ago which replaced my 2006 Subaru Forester Premium. This car is really great and I love this vehicle. If you are thinking of getting it then go look at it in person and test drive. People might call it slow but here in West Virginia this hatchback is absolutely not slow and it is very awesome and gets up to speed easily. Also people who complain about the infotainment and etc are just picky along with its resolutions. It’s Subarus entry level off-road capable vehicle or all the three and it’s perfectly fine. People nowadays have become very picky over the stuff on these cars expecting them to be luxury when they aren’t luxury vehicles. They are not luxury cars and don’t have all the top of the line luxury feature not only cause it’s not the top trim but out of the Crosstrek, Forester, and Outback it’s the entry level vehicle and the cheapest. Most expensive pricing is at 32k or something similar. I got my sport for 28ish thousand dollars and it’s amazing. The vehicle is overall great and don’t expect to get a top of the line luxury vehicle. Once again, many reviewers call it slow but honestly it’s very quick. If you look at statistics and see how long in seconds it takes to get from 0-60 and actually care about those numbers then get something meant for speed. Very rarely will you ever test the 0-60 speed and more of be doing 0-35 and then 35 or 45-60. Lastly, the cvt is great, many people talk bad about the cvt, but it’s great. I came from a 4 speed automatic which many people might say is much better but the cvt is excellent and if you didn’t know anything about cars you wouldn’t know that it was a cvt besides the no shifting. Also you never actually notice the drone noise from in the vehicle. It’s so quiet you can sometimes even forget the things on when stopped and when driving it sounds just like an automatic majority of the time. The Crosstrek sport is an excellent vehicle especially for its price and capability over all other competitors.

This is not directed entirely to the Subaru infotainment system, but when the driver must move through screens by tapping icons to operate the system, the driver is essentially using a cell phone or laptop. This is clearly dangerous especially when the system is lagging. Seconds of eye focus upon the screen is time away from driving safely. The Mazda inferface system seems safer. Good review!

I've owned a silver sport for over a month and love it. I did months of research before I wrote a check. I actually like the infotainment screen. My friends thought it looks pretty bad ass. Sure I'd like a few more real switches but everything works well. Once you get used to the buttons in the wheel there's a lot you can do without ever touching the screen. The real estate the iSight takes isn't something I notice as this vehicle has such great visibility all around. Something that's crazy to me is this Crosstrek Sport cost the same as a new Audi A4 I bought back in 97 and is a better vehicle. I paid just over $28k with a nice dealer discount. Subaru in my opinion is a value leader and best in this segment.

Fair knocks on the infotainment. I am one of the rare persons that prefer the smaller system from the previous generation. HVAC controls should always be physical and separate. All said, the CrossTrek remains a compelling package.

If the infotainment was anywhere near the competition, it would be near the top for subcompact SUV's that I may recommend.
@villafontananorte10 ай бұрын
Agreed. The infotainment system is too big and doesn't offer too many options to justify its size. I rather have a 6-inch screen with a physical climate control bottom. Subaru uses big letters in the infotainment menu to justify the screen size.

I purchased a 2022 Subaru Forester Limited because it still had real buttons, knobs, and switches along with a CD player. The infotainment screen is 8 inches, which is plenty big for the navigation and Android Auto functions. Call me old-fashioned, but I like the intuitiveness of tactile switch gear as it can be used without taking your eyes off the road.

I bought my 2024 Crosstrek Sport a couple of weeks ago with package #22. Magnetite Grey OTD $33,758 It only had 3 miles on it. I love it. From the first moment that I hit the gas, I felt as though I was levitating. I love to drive my car. It's nice.

Very intelligent review. Too bad about the laggy audio system. I could get used to the iSight obstruction, but I suspect the audio system would aggravate me _more_ as time passed. Seems like a great car otherwise.

You are spot-on, the EyeSight backside is taking up space, better used as glass. Also, every time the windshield needs replacing, you must get is recalibrated. New cars - new problems. Recall a time cars improved each decade?

Bought our sport about 2 weeks ago. After seeing reviews and driving it. I dont understand how fast you need an suv to be. I drove quite a few different ones. And for $30,000 with all the safety features, I found the 2.5 ideal for this size car. I thought it drove smoothly on rough roads and was quiet in the interior. Very few cars are this good for the price.

I love my 2024 Crosstrek Sport! I do experience lag with the display. Wish more knobs so you can use feel instead of having to search for control. A/C needs vents that reach better & add backseat vents! I live in Texas where leather seats & steering wheels become branding irons. I dont get great gas mileage - only about 23mpg

I agree it needs more buttons. Also I saw that it lacks heated seats which would be nice in MN for instance.

This one has heated seats. Just depends on the trim.

On the 2023 Crosstrek you can customize the centerline positioning to either right or left lane... pretty sure the 2024 would have the same settings...

Just traded my 2021 Toyota Venza hybrid on January 19th 2024 for a new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek limited. I must note, the Toyotas safety sense 2 even being 3 years older than Subarus eyesight system, is more refined and operates smoother & flawlessly. Of course a hybrid system provides better fuel economy. Subaru symmetrical AWD is superior in every way. Seat comfort I found excellent in the Crosstrek. After a 350 mile drive home no hip pain at all. Truly Amazing! Subaru heated seats are great because it includes a low back warmer in the Crosstrek. The very first thing I will do now that I am back home is get rid of these horrible Falken Ziex tires. These are terrible tires! The handling on these tires is squirmy. What is nice about the Crosstrek is it fits like a drivers glove. You sit in it not on it. The Toyota Venza was very comfortable and easy to travel in but not an inspiring drive. The Crosstrek however is more of a drivers car, it is fun to drive!

The infotainment is not that bad, eye sight camera doesn’t block line of sight. Lane centering is ok it might favor the right but isn’t the point to drive the car?

I have to laugh . What people really have to complain about. I came from driving cars that an AM radio was opptional . You dont seem to appritate how nice even to have all this stuff, I think for the most part everything that needs to be addressed should be addressed before you start the car you no things like your temp settings your radio chanal etc.k instead of when your driving. As for slow? Is it all that terable that it takes a few seconds out of your life for a screen to come up? I no I no I am an old fart but really. To me there are no complaints over trivial stuff like this.

As bad as you think Subaru’s infotainment is, it crushes Toyota’s. My Avalons is terribly slow and glitchy. Bluetooth microphone stopped working years ago.

The older Toyota systems are pretty poor also. The newest one is decent but still behind some others. I would put their latest one in front of Subaru though.

I wish they would make it ILLeGAL for any manufacturer to put ANY kind of " ASSIST" function on any part of any vehiucle. ENOUGH of that computer crap already- let people drive their OWN damn cars without that crap. Maybe they'd leave these STUPID screens alone and focus on driving like they NEED to. Many of them can't drive for sh... anyway!!

@CarsMadeSimple Жыл бұрын
I've only spent about 5 minutes behind the wheel of the CX-30 Turbo. I would need a little more time to say. I would say the Mazda would be more my preference due to the sportier platform.
@rickgarcia8481Ай бұрын
It would depend on why your buying it. The mazda 30 is a great car it is sporty. If you get the turbo it's very pricey but the standard motor is fine in it. The problem I had was the back seat it's got little legroom the subaru definitely has more legroom front and back. I preferred the subaru but you have to drive for yourself. I though the subaru sport had a smoother ride than the mazda30

Needs HUD
@BoopSnoot Жыл бұрын
Having a HUD on my current vehicle, I'd take a digital dash with a huge digital speedometer like on the Trax over a HUD anyday. Especially with many now tinting their front windshield which interferes with HUDs unless you have the plastic popup kind which look ghetto.
