Taking the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz XRT on a Road Trip | Great Experience!

In this video I drive the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz XRT to and from the 2024 MAMA Fall Fest. This round trip was roughly 300 miles and I enjoyed every mile of it in the refreshed Santa Cruz! The Santa Cruz XRT returning good MPG figures, a comfortable ride, and newly updated technology/driver assistance which made the experience better than previous model years. If you're in the market for a Santa Cruz, I would highly recommend checking out this vehicle if you want a small bed instead of the normal cargo area found in a smaller SUV. Thanks for your review, very helpful. I am hesitant to buy because of the DCT. Where I live, there is mostly low speed stop and go driving. I am hearing that the turbo and DCT do not do well with that. If a 4 speed and naturally aspirated engine came as an option, I would buy one in a minute. Yes,I am old, 75, so i am not a dan if turbo or the DCT.

XRT in canada includes the sunroof :)

I have the limited and don’t have a problem with the rear window view, but I like a high driving position. If I were to sit lower I would have that visibility issue that was described.

Good review. Very helpful. Sadly. in the mid-west US the Santa-Cruz is hardly available, and only offered with depressing black interiors.

I'm still on the fence on the xrt or the sel activity AWD. My main gripe on the sel activity AWD is that dam sunroof. My concern on the xrt is the DCT transmission. So, 🤷‍♂️

That's a tough one! I would really take into consideration what type of driving, how much driving, and whether you want the driver assistance technology. Other factors would include how long you plan to keep the vehicle. If purchasing new, you will have the safety net of the warranty for the DCT. I understand it's not always easy to use the warranty as certain criteria have to be met but it's there for a failure. I think the sunroof is beneficial for the dark interior of these trucks. The gray interior could likely get away without one but then again that's not available on XRT so it's a mute point haha.

@CarsMadeSimple , yes, I figured a lighter color interior would help with the lighting inside. I'm retired, I don't drive much. I do like the Colorado mountains. I don't know how the 2.5l n/a activity would do in mountain driving. I do know the turbo engine would work great. 🤷‍♂️
