@ravagingwolverine3 ай бұрын
I'll give credit to Hocevar for keeping a low profile, as far as I can tell, for most of the season. I'm not surprised he had a moment like this. Even veteran drivers have that happen. Hocevar needs to earn respect on the track, especially after that final truck race of 2023. Hopefully he does that. The important thing here is to show that this type of thing is not the norm for him going forward. Congrats to Berry. I like the signing. I'd say there were two obvious choices. I personally considered that Berry would be a good prospect for the Wood Brothers team even when the rumor was that they wanted Briscoe. Berry is good, but Briscoe just has more upsides to a team, so with both available, it made sense to try to get Briscoe first. But Berry is a good pick. I think the 21 car has been dysfunctional for too long. Perhaps the transition to the new car put them behind. I know the 21 was making some odd choices even before that. Basically, I'm saying their problems go beyond their driver, in my view. It was time for a driver change though. Hopefully, they change a lot more. As for Childers, I suspect he encouraged Berry to take this opportunity without him because Berry may be around far longer than Childers intends to remain a crew chief, so a transition would have to happen at some point. I will say, I'm surprised to hear he thinks the Cup car feels similar to a late model since the current Cup car isn't considered great at short tracks, but I'm not in the car so I'll take his word for it. I think Harrison Burton is a good race car driver from what he showed in Xfinity. I think he can do well there again, perhaps even thrive and compete for the championship. He may never really be Cup level, but it's time to go back down and rebuild. He wouldn't be a bad signing for some of the strong Xfinity teams. Perhaps the Xfinity car suits him better as well. I wish him luck and hope to see him running somewhere next season. But I agree with the 21 making this move. A change was overdue.

John Hunter has benefitted from a little humble pie, going Cup racing then getting bumped back to the minors and even the farm teams (Trucks), and if Harrison Burton has any talent and intestinal fortitude, dropping back a level or two can bring a luster to his dull star. But if he's a nepo baby, riding on the family name with no real shining moments on his resume except for a gimme-win against Gragson? A clueless wannabe with a mama that cries every lap like she did for her husband, well, maybe Penske can put him in the shop somewhere holding up a broom. Really want to see Rodney go with Josh in 2025 to the Wood Brothers. There's something to be said for the 21 team's race to the bottom of the Top 30 performers, and I believe keeping the same crew chief for 10+ years with different drivers is antiquated management thinking. It's like the joke about the ditzy blond going to the doctor. "I'm hurting all over. I haven't hit my head, but when I push here (forehead) it hurts." The doctor examines her head, checking for a bump or a contusion but finds none, nor does she wince or express pain as he touches her. "And my knee hurts too, (pushing on her own kneecap for emphasis) and I know I haven't bumped into anything hard enough to hurt it because it isn't even bruised." The doctor checks her kneecap, moves it back and forth, tapping her reflex, and again, she doesn't complain. The doctor wheeled back on his little stool and made a note in her chart. "I'm a mess, doc. Please, help me!" The doctor rolls forward and gently lifts her hand in his, and she blushes - thinking he is flirting with her. He slowly turns her hand until it is palm up then looks her in the eye. "Your finger is broken." The long list of performers in what is a Penske 4th car (I'd call it an R&D team, and an in-house crew try-outs space for the 3 main teams) may be the result of old car/crew chief unwilling to step aside and let someone else take the reins. If Josh wins a race there next year, I have the perfect idea for a tee shirt : "Legend-Berry Wood Brothers Wins #100!" And where oh where will Noah come ashore? I don't know that PopPop and Austin can handle both Kyle AND Noah. Front Row, maybe?

You called it. You are so smart or you have a spy in the Nascar organization.

Carson Hocevar should’ve gotten a probation! Fines and Points Penalties mean nothing. It’s more a slap on a wrist and a soft “penalty”. Carson is a repeat offender and NASCAR is so soft on him on penalties. Yet everyone wonders why he keeps getting away with it. Since Carson intentionally spun Harrison under yellow and not crash him, he should’ve gotten a probation. Bring back probations.

I feel like I'm the only person that really doesn't feel like carson did anything wrong. I'm sure nascar had smt data to back up their decision, and I understand he has a history I am by no means a fan of his. To me though, it looked like burton checked up excessively compared to the other cars on the high line, and carson didn't have enough time to react, which to me, is further proven by the fact that I believe the 38 of gilliland almost ran carson over when he checked up to try to not hit the 21.

@johnhaas2523 I get that, everyone is slowing but you can see Harrison slowing significantly more than the other cars around, not just carson. Everyone was letting off, it looked like Harrison hit the brakes and carson wasn't expecting it.

Maybe Burton will take over the 15 xfinity car.
