this made my day. my dad died when i was 12, and when i was a toddler, this was our song. we loved the jungle book and would listen to this song religiously. anytime this movie or song is mentioned, i think of him.

They are both amazing. Carson voice is liquid gold and he plays a mean guitar. Josh is a guitar virtuoso with a very good voice. Together they make any song they perform sound as good or better than the original.

I used to play and sing that one for/with my daughter when she was little. One day she slipped and sang "forget about your worries and your wife". Needless to say I have sang it that way ever since. Nice job guys!!

This brings back fond memories. I had never seen this movie as a kid, but in the 1980s I was a chauffeur, and I got to spend three days driving Phil Harris around Austin. @alcogm - I'm not sure whether songs are like published fiction, but if so, there'd be no royalties if we're talking about tunes written long ago. With fiction, a book or story goes to Public Domain 75 years after the author's death. Maybe all intellectual property is this way?

Django, only ever to be revered, was and remains a startling genius, his two fingers picking out a dazzling array of sudden tunes with extraordinary precision. My point, badly made, was rather that Josh possesses a similarly inventive technical ability allied to a no less extraordinary musicality. Meaning that I think he can legitimately be compared to Reinhardt. But where Django's life was never less than high-wire, bordering on the slightly crazed, Josh is eminently sane. Both should be applauded, of course. Django as Caravaggio, Josh as Gainsborough? You decide. Both wonders, however. And I hope we can agree on that.
