While this is not the worst review, I get so tired of people saying it doesn't have enough power. I'll grant you it won't win many drag races, but how often do you need drag race performance from a daily driver. The answer is pretty much never. This is a very inexpensive car that too many want to compare with something that costs more. Test drive it, then decide if you want to pay more for things you don't need...

why no spare tire though? Unless you live in a city a spare tire is a must. That tire filler stuff if you are hundreds of miles from a tire shop........ spend thousands on a car why cheap out
@bongodave137 ай бұрын
@@bobjohnson270 In other countries, the spare was standard. It was mounted on the rear gate. That's why it opens that way.

@@CarsWithSteve ,no I have owned nothing but Fords since 1987 and never bought anything else. My first car was a Chevrolet Chevette and I couldn't believe General Motors could make such an awful car. I have never been let down by a Ford, ever.

@@CarsWithSteve I can't speak for Scott, but I have a 2017 Fiesta ST, and a 2018 EcoSport SES. I once had an 80's era Econoline window van. I'm not brand loyal, but Ford has made cars that work for me, at good prices. Mine never failed me. The van needed some serious repairs, but I got it working right without a lot of money, and a few 12-packs to some mechanic friends. The 80s were awesome. 😄

Auto Start/Stop is aggravating for VERY limited fuel savings, but more wear and tear on the engine, starter, and battery. Trust me, disable it. Thank me later.
@CarsWithSteve3 жыл бұрын
Agree with you there! There's a workaround to disable it permanently but could lead to warranty issues. If only there was a way to permanently lock it out!

I like the EcoSport very much, I have the 2020 SES model 2 litre (non turbo, which I prefer). I did negotiate a good deal to purchase car for a very reasonable price. The only thing I don't like, is that it does not come with any type of spare tire, and you cannot order one from Ford, because they do not make spare tires for this vehicle. I will probably buy a spare from companies such as easy spare etc. Otherwise, comfortable car, I am 6'0, 212 lbs gas mileage is 29 on just open road driving, mixture is 25-27.

Good to hear you’re enjoying the EcoSport! The spare used to be mounted on the rear swing gate similar to Jeep style. Are you looking for a spare that’ll stay in the trunk or be mounted outside
@Th33Vultur32 жыл бұрын
I'm getting 27 in the city. I rarely drive on the highway. I have the EcoSport SE 2020. Its a shame its going to be discontinued in America. It looks like a mixture of a baby Escape or a Baby Ford Edge. I have the 1.0 engine. It does not have the Blind Spot Information System, but blindspot mirrors and no factory navigation, so I my phone through either Android Auto and Apple Car Play.

The rear seats do go down flat. Just pull the seat cushions up (with the pull strap tucked in the middle) and then lay the seats flat.
@CarsWithSteve3 жыл бұрын
You got it - all depends on whether you pull that seat cushion up or not

Ford screwed up by not putting the turbo on the 2.0, why did they put it on the smaller engine that didn’t ad much horse power to it? My 2014 Escape with the 2.0 turbo boost was great with good exceleration. My 2018 2.0 I had it up to over 90 on an interstate passing some of those Sunday drivers that go like 55 in a 70 mph speed limit( sure screws up your using speed control when you have it set at the true speed limit an come behind one of Sunday drivers). I did not know about you can fold the back seat cushion down. All in all I like my ECO SPORT.
@CarsWithSteve2 жыл бұрын
The EcoSport probably wouldn't be able to handle the power of the 2.0L turbo without some serious component upgrades. I could have maybe seen the 1.5L EcoBoost in there if Ford didn't choose to discontinue this car... Glad you're enjoying yours though!
@daniellarson3068 Жыл бұрын
Where they really screwed up is by eliminating the spare tire. Foreign and older models have the spare on the swing tailgate. It both looks cool (Jeeplike) to have the spare back there and you aren't stuck if you have a flat. By the way, I'm one of those guys that do the 55 thing rather than 70 mph. I get the finger and I smile and wave back. It really irks them when they flip the bird and I smile. Too many people in a hurry to go nowhere fast. I do, however, stay in the slow lane for courtesy.

Wow that sucks.. the transmission was replaced under warranty at least though right? I've heard from a few people that the OEM brakes in their EcoSports went quickly but the tires and brake lights at low mileage is odd
