1:54:11 I like how, as soon as he's pronounced dead on-air, they show a memorial of clips of him looking happy that they must have put together before they even knew he was dead. Broadcastin's a cold-hearted business!

Tbh I bet F1, IndyCar, MotoGP etc have tribute videos and memorials premade for each driver, just in case something happens

Patrick. that’s definitely what they do. everyone knows the risk of this sport and know something like this can happen

There's an interview I read somewhere with Paul Page and he said that they all knew he wouldn't survive and the tribute was being prepared straight away ready for the announcement.

He knew right away that it was a fatality. He told them to not show a replay of the accident. @jaiappadurai5776

My question is whether these EuroSport broadcasts were recorded live, or dubbed over later with the announcers having full knowledge of what was going to happen.

this was broadcast live

The replay shown at 28:25 - is it just me, or does it look like Greg's body was about to fall out of the car before it came to a stop?

Yes, he,s almost out of the car.

Why didn't they red flag the race?

Technical question why did the late 90s super speedways champcars have downwards "angled" front wings? (10.48) And yet modern indycars do not? What if any are the advantages and disadvantages of both front wings assuming if both wing types are the same size and cord etc etc ? 90s champcars wings look smaller to me but I think they could go faster maybe to "earn" more download air pressure to maybe equal the modern indycars which are turned down a bit with boost pressure for the big ovals.

Also @11.50 co-commentator watching the first car crashing makes a good point about the track inside wall with its lack of tire wall which if I'm not mistaken is excactly were Greg Moore crashed literally minutes later killing him ………did they ever get a answer why this was? and is there either a tire wall and /or safer wall in that excactly spot now?

@@discodavid26 the other factor was the grass infield, once the car dug into the grass, it was going to flip and horrifically for Moore, it put him into the concrete wall cockpit first. Honestly zero chance of survival 😢 Im pretty sure that with a tarmac runoff there, the impact would not only have been slowed but the car would not have flipped

@DieKolkrabe i think that me because Krosnoff's accident occured after a certain precentage of the race had been run, after which they are permitted to call it a day should such as event occur.

@eduardogarcia732 I'm not fully sure on that but I think you're right. I still think they ought to have stopped the race however.
