Seeing this in 2019 makes me wish I can go back 20 years and see this amazing series

Thank you for ALL of these uploads. I miss this racing dearly. There were the glory days for open wheel. We will never see this again and it is a shame. Kind of like the Can Am series, THE GTP series, and Cart. Picales of auto racing that will never return.

01:16:20 - such a nice thing to see from the PacWest team. And gotta love a dude like Moreno who was just so grateful to drive and be somewhat competitive.

I will record and store in my collection because it is the only record of this complete race. Only in 2007 was to find out a bit of the season 1999 and 2000 CART because here in Brazil then the station that transmitted it before (SBT) started to show the races on compact than an hour at the end of Sunday nights. It was a neglect of the station with fans of the category for the sake of hearing of war between SBT and Rede Globo with talk shows, we ran the best season of the category, where the Brazilian back to win after a winless 1998.

In 1999, CART reduced aerodynamic grip. The big crash at Michigan happened when a driver cutting off another's air in a corner. The Michigan race was on July 25, 1999, on a D-shaped 2 mile oval with 7 degree banking. Before the race, Greg Moore said, "I will be exciting, if you want to watch carnage." Three months later, Greg Moore died at Fontana, on a D-shaped 2 mile oval with 5 degree banking. The air on his car was cut off by another driver, causing his crash and death.

earlier in that race Richie Hearn spun through the grass at the same spot. the grass was still damp from the rain that weekend and he left some ruts in the ground. when Greg spun and came through his tires hit those ruts and flung him head first into the wall. the most terrible racing incident I've ever seen. I didn't see Jeff Krosnoff's accident that day but I knew it was very very bad for Greg. I hoped for the best but after a decade of open wheel racing I pretty much knew he was dead

That final 10.7s pit stop cost Papis the win. Both Montoya and Franchitti had 14 seconds pit stops, that was a huge mistake by the Rahal team.

i find it weird that the 98 race was still being talked about as one of the greatest races when 3 fans were killed. granted by a tire, but still

The difference in the crowd size from 1995 or so to this point is incredible. A sharp decline that shows how quickly the split destroyed American open wheel racing.
