Installed one over a year ago. It works great. I called Cartell two times and they were very helpful AND knowledgeable. 5 year warranty, made in the USA, this is the exit sensor to use.

Actually Ridge tech support was really good, we spent about 20 minute's on the phone at the gate, and they are sending me a new keypad and transmitter - free of charge. @@ApacheRanch

Quick question, the manufacture info said this is not a problem... but I have horses that wander around this area and they have metal shoes.. Manufacture said no problem, I live on the big island of Hawaii and I have "blue rock" ( harder than granite) one inch under my dirt so I have to jackhammer every inch of the ground for this thing ( not looking forward to that). Just hoping this is not an issue. Thanks again.

Hi your gate exit sensor should be good with the horses I have installed gate motors for 7 years even with the sensitivity turned all the way up a shovel won't even open the gate over the loop unless it's like 6in deep hope this was helpful

Finding this video helped me a lot. I have the wireless sensor and the Apollo 1050 and am trying to learn to self install. Can you tell me if the dual vs single exit terminal set up means how many gates you are opening. Meaning I would use the dual diagram instead of the single diagram if my system opens 2 gates instead of a single gate like in your video? Not an electrician so I was not sure if the directions were speaking to the number of gates or the number of exit terminals on the 1050. I appreciate any insight.

It's not the number of gates (ie single swing gate, or dual swing gate). It has to do with the operator control board. You have a Nice Apollo 1050 control board so you only need to use the "single exit terminal" wiring just as I did in the video. I would have done the exact same configuration with a dual swing gate installation. This difference in these two options has to do with the control board itself. Some control boards require a N.O. (normally open) contact that closes in order to trip the free exit system, and also a N.C. (normally closed) contact that opens in order to trip the free exit system. So you will need to use all 5 wires in that case. The Nice Apollo 1050 does not require this, since it has a dedicated feature on the board for "exit" and as such, it uses just the 3 wires to trigger the exit activity. Since you have a Nice Apollo 1050 board I suggest you check out the other gate operator videos I have on this channel. I prefer to use Nice Apollo 1050 boards on my installs, and have several videos related to that equipment on my channel. I wish you the best! Thanks for your question.

The sensor just gives a go signal to your gate to open. Your gate will need to have a built-in timer or other system to initiate the close. This does not send a close signal after the vehicle is no longer detected.
