The Haval H9 houses a 2 Litre turbo petrol engine that produces 160 kW of power and 342 Nm of Torque. Fuel consumption is listed as 12.1 litres combined.

I was excited about the H2. It looked okay inside and out with plenty of features so decided to take it for a drive. Those cars are that seriously underpowered for open road they would be dangerous. If you only need it in urban areas you wouldn’t bother with such a fair sized vehicle and would go with something smaller, more mobile and with enough zip for the open road for the odd occasions you may need it for that!

Chinese manufacturers have a habit of trying to copycat original cars. Remembering that, am I the only one that thinks they tried to copy the Prado and the Land Cruiser with this Haval? The interior reminds me of an older Land Cruiser but the styling cues on the exterior like the high mounted front headlamps and narrow but tall frame remind me a lot of the Prado. And if I recall correctly, the Lexus Prado’s (GX460) trim levels are Premium and Luxury whereas this Haval’s is Premium and Lux.

They say a more powerful petrol V6 and even V6 Diesel are on their way but no one knows when it's gonna happen. Russian buyers wait for them too, with 2.0 this mammoth is surely underpowered and engine lifetime is doubtable.

They have not mastered the skill to build reliable big engines, once the 2.0T engine is fully tested in the market they will certainly develop a higher version.

It needs a LS or ecoboost V6 as a petrol and a 3.5 liter DI diesel to be relevant. The interior is on the money even over the top. Still a great wall though %30+ loss the moment you drive it out of the yard though. The badges are big enough you don't need the idiot lights under the doors to remind you of your mistake.

li lin No Japanese or Euro car marker would put a 2 litre petrol in a car of this size. The H9 is like a Toyota Land Cruiser, LR Discovery, VW Tourareg type size. 2 litre only make sense if it was like a hybrid crossover like the Toyota RAV4, Nissan Qashqai, Subaru Forrester or the LR Freelander.

Many options, choice of 4 cylinders for the h9 not very convincing, incomprehensible absence of diesel, and it is necessary to review the rear trains of h8, h5, h3 ... Why separate rear deck in the h9 and integrated for the h8 (less flexibility, therefore less efficiency in 4x4) design acceptable for most. At this price there 137 000 d Tunisian I would rather buy a used V8 landcruiser than to buy a 4 cilyndres new petrol.
