Morris is one of the many interesting character arcs in ER. Hated in the beginning due to his blatant stupidity and laziness, but he rose to become what we see here. Competent, compassionate and a good teacher.

Yes! I really started to like him when he started dating the cop. He has some missteps but he listened and was willing to admit when he was wrong and worked to do better. I uploaded all the scenes with Carter on this episode. You can watch them, that will tell you the story! To make it short, Carter is in kidney failure, and has usual complications from it: fluid overload and high level of potassium, which caused fluid to accumulate around his heart (thus Gates tapping fluid out of him) and cardiac arrhythmia, which is why they had to shock his heart.

I wish this show would get the "reboot" treatment, but ONLY if they get back most of the original cast and writers, and don't try to give it some edgy vibe or go too extreme with it. Edit: Reboot as in a continuation of the original series with the next gen of doctors introduced toward the end; as in Dr. Rachel Greene is now a seasoned professional taking care of the interns and still relying on Dr. Carter for advice. When I mentioned not getting too edgy, I was referring to over the top drama that has no merit and is a lazy way to make something seem exciting. Ex: An earthquake during a 50+ car pile-up in the middle of a blizzard on Christmas Eve, then a volcano erupts and spews lava all over the city just as a pregnant lady goes into labor with triplets and requires an elaborate procedure while in the back of a speeding ambulance as the only way to save her. It's the way over the top, impossible scenarios being in every single episode of a show completely dilutes and ruins proper writing and character development. Side note: Being "woke" isn't a bad thing. Recognizing that society is constantly changing, evolving and improving with each passing generation isn't a bad thing. Recognizing things that were once acceptable are no longer acceptable isn't a bad thing. Showing compassion, empathy and understanding to the plights of other people's problems and taking away the taboo of discussing certain scenarios is NOT a bad thing. The bad things are actively trying to continue inappropriate behavior because "that's how things have always been" or "I lived like that, and I turned out fine!" Trying to force change to come to standstill and demonize change as something dangerous because other people just refuse to even TRY to understand what it means to be hated just for existing is the truly bad, abhorrent act.
@drmayeda19304 жыл бұрын
I doubt that would happen. I'd rather have a sequel along the same premise rather than a reboot. Reboot means all our favorite characters will get new actors look at star trek.

Morris learned from Banfield earlier in this episode about Carter's kidney problems and his dialysis. I'm sure Archie hoped he'd never have to do any of these procedures to save or protect Carter, but he was prepared and one step ahead, even on a day he wasn't supposed to be working. The Season 15 version of Morris was way better than the careless, reckless fool he could be a few seasons earlier.
