HI Folks enjoy the talk. I have a YF carburetor I put one of you kits in. The Carb did NOT have a check ball of any kind. The kit did not have a replacement. Will the carb work as is??? Don

I don’t have that accelerator pump hose and little tube in my carb… and the repair manual for my 71’ Ford Maverick doesn’t show it in the diagram of the carter yf… is this correct? How does the accelerator pump work without the hose? (The manual I have states I have a carter yf… not the yfa)

The metering spring at 7:43, is giving me a hard time. I can't really see on the spring or how you fit it in. Any pictures of the spring, or better ways to see how it fits?

Mike..my YFA has a flat washer on top of the retaining clip under the accelerator pump spring.. I'm not seeing this on yours.. should it be there???

I would have one there. Doesn't have to be, but if the squirt is weak then might help.

@@MikesCarburetor carburetor works very good by your instructions...how can I tell by the way the metering rod is adjusted if it is properly done while motor is running..I followed your instructions but I may be off a little???

@@rickigunter1960 I don't know what it would look like with the engine running. It will be on the move most of the time. Adjustment is done with the engine off.

@@MikesCarburetor noooo... What I meant by my question was how would the motor respond if the metering rod was set wrong what would be the signs and symptoms of the motor performance.. being set incorrectly

Hard to say. Depends on which way the rod is off. To low would cause lack of fuel. Too high would result in too much gas.@@rickigunter1960

Watched this video a few times trying to see the thickness of the small gasket that goes over the arm for the metering rod. In the rebuild kit there is one thick one and several thin ones.

Hi, my carburetor lose massive gas out of the accelerator pump (the opening for the pump and wot enrichment lifter link). so much that the engine dies. does anyone have an idea what the problem could be? thanks for help
