I clicked on this video because I know him!!(I joined the theater company the show after that) You can’t tell watching but his hat was about to fall, so he was going to chuck it in the audience, but he forgot his wig was attracted to the hat. I was the set director for a small play I did and the the big walls we had built for the scene almost fell but we were lucky enough to catch them in time that not many people noticed. It never happened during rehearsal of course though lol

I was still a kid and had gotten the main character in a school play. For one scene, we needed a really long stick, so my teacher told me to go find one since the one we used up until then had broken. Fast forward twenty minutes: I hadn't found a stick long enough yet, but the others had started the play. WITHOUT ME. THE MAIN CHARACTER. I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ON STAGE THE WHOLE TIME, ONLY SITTING BEHIND A ROCK IN THE FIRST SCENE. THE OTHER KIDS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE STANDING THERE WITH ME. THEY DEADASS DIDN'T NOTICE I WASN'T BEHIND THAT ROCK.

@@brettshair3151 We were pretty lucky that the stage directions didn't make sense in that context. The character I was playing was supposed to be gone until after the first song, but the teacher told me that when the first song starts, I would stand up and sing it with the others. Now when I didn't appear behind the rock to sing, she noticed I was really gone. She put two and two together and realised I was still looking for a stick, went to get me (luckily the place we were at wasn't really big so she found me after like ten seconds) and allowed me to skip the first song. I walked through the door when I was supposed to appear behind the rock and said my first line like I was supposed to. I don't think anyone except the other kids on stage noticed.

It’s so amazing when the actors can play it off as if nothing happened. I once had a wardrobe mishap and my skirt almost fell off!! Thankfully, a crew member was standing behind me just out of sight, and she helped me put the pin back. I love theatre Hey! It's me again! another thing happened to me recently. I was in the first production of Phantom of the Opera in Savannah Georgia EVER (at the oldest running theater in America too!) as Carlotta. For a couple of shows, during Il Muto, my huge powdered wig fell off during the scene!! Here’s one of my theatre mishaps!: (I’m a stage manager btw, so I got to see everyone panicking backstage it was so funny) During my school’s performance of Into The Woods, there’s a scene where Jack’s mother hits Jack with a broom. During the second show, she hit him a little too low and a little too hard and ended up whacking him really hard right in the crotch 😂. My onstage mishaps: -Frozen - I had pretty much the same issue as in the video -Les Mis - I was playing Eponie and at the scene when she dies, the bloodbag exploded in Marius and my face. (apparently we were not alone with this issue since I found a video of this happening online) -Aladdin - The carpet just fell down, from about 9 feet. -Frozen - The quick change was working just fine, but then I slipped on the dress. -Spring Awakening - I was playing Wendla and we did the same choreography as in the Off Broadway production. So in "I believe" when Wendla and Melchior get together the guy playing Melchior just wasn't able to unbutton my blouse?? We were way past the moment when he was supposed to have the blouse already open when he finally made it. -Heathers - I was playing Veronica and I don't know how, but I must have hurt the guy playing JD in well.... his private areas 😂. So he was in pain, but it looked like he was enjoying this scene. 😅

There was this one time when I went to watch Aladdin, and the machine that lifted up the magic carpet broke which made the carpet fall off. So the actors said to the audience "this is the quiet part" as they went backstage to sort it out. Here's my own theater mishap: Senior year, we did Little Women and I was playing a written-in maid that stole 3 of Hannah's lines. Okay? My younger sister played Marmee. So, we had been having issues with our sound guy and mics. He was turning random mics on, forgetting to turn some off, some were dead when we went onstage, etc. I'm sitting in the women's dressing room with another girl helping her run lines. In the middle of the show, we hear over the intercom system in the middle of a scene: "Hide the dead bodies." Now. Here's a little background context. My sister was in the makeup room with some crew members, who were playing heads up. The clue was serial killer. Well, they started talking about how easy it is to hide dead bodies in the theater with all those nooks and crannies. Well, my sister said, "All I heard was hide the dead bodies." All we heard was, "Hide the dead bodies." This was right after Beth died I believe on opening night. You can't make these things up.

When I was 10 (41 years ago😱) I played Grizelda (ugly sister) opposite my cousin (RIP Lyn)who was Primula in Cinderella. One performance I started to say “I want to go to the ball and meet the Prince.” My cousin looked at me horrified and whispered “we are meant to be trying on the shoe!” The longest pause ever ensued and I couldn’t remember my lines. The audience thought it was funny so I recall marching to the front of the stage, shaking my fist comical style and saying “well you don’t know the line either!!” The place was in uproar! Best, and worst, moment from the pantomime!!
