Well, she’s definitely scattered dust now and no coming back…maybe as a ghost. The CGI was really good but I feel bad the writers chose to have her sing the song of the character she was bored of playing. I wanted more trial. The episode limped back into telling not showing. So is Nicky dead? I thought he was playing violin at the theater or did I miss something?

​@@wildmarjoramdieselpunk6396Nicki played violin at the theater very briefly while Lestat was there... Lestat even mentions in this episode that Nicki was only with the theater briefly. And we ONLY saw Nicki in the orchestra for the theater in the past. During that scene where Armand and Lestat fuck in a theatre box. There was absolutely nothing indicating that Nicki was still alive in the 40s when Louis and Claudia were in Paris. So yeah, the timelines in the show must be confusing you. It all seemed pretty clear to me when I was watching it but I guess I can also see how someone might be confused. As far as Lestat knows in the 40s, Nicki is dead. Lestat mentions it in season 1. That he took his own life at some point after their paths separated.

1. Madeleine chose Claudia over the coven. This was the first time someone chose Claudia. ❤️It was so sad when they died. I was glad Claudia was defiant until the end, but it was hard to watch.😢 2. Regarding Louis and Lestat, I'm uncertain about what to think. I do feel Lestat was sorry for "breaking" Louis. Did anyone notice that Claudia had to remind Louis, "(Lestat is) doing it again, hurting you again"? This makes me think Claudia felt Louis was falling for Lestat's apologies, even though Louis seemed very angry. Also, Lestat is a hypocrite and broke rules too. He said he was sorry, but he loved the trial, knowing they would all be put to death. Overall, Lestat is a fraud. 3. Daniel is TRYING to get Louis to see the truth about Armand. I loved how he talked to Armand in that dry, disbelieving tone. Lol. 4. Armand is an ancient vampire who controlled the minds of people in an entire restaurant when Santiago appeared. He couldn't control an entire theater, including other vampires to save Madeleine, Claudia, and Louis? (Okay, Armand, I don't believe it was that hard for you 🙄). He wanted to get rid of Claudia. I also don't know why Louis isn't angry with Armand. I do think Armand is going to save Louis-I can't see how else their relationship would work. 5. I am very curious about what will happen to Daniel and if the Talamasca will play a role in it. The acting was amazing. This is an underrated show. I hope they renew it for a third season and that it won't take two years to get it. Thanks, guys-you always give a great breakdown. ❤

I notice people don't mention Daniel much-I'm curious about him too. Did he have a relationship with Armand? Will he die? Will the Talamasca play a role in his life?

Ugh, you are not considering that we are only getting one side of the story. Lestat hasn’t told his side and we’ve already seen Louis is not a reliable narrator and Armand is a liar. Armand has manipulated Louis’s memories and has definitely lied about his relationship with Lestat. I agree, Armand could have prevented all of this. There’s no way the other vampires could control him. He let this happen because he wanted to have Louis to himself. What people don’t understand is why, he was obsessed with Lestat and Lestat loved Louis.

I don’t believe anything Armand says about the trial, sorry not sorry but no one can convince me that he could not prevent it. Like really? The playwright Sam prevented him from helping Claudia and Madeleine? Also, I haven’t finished y’all’s review yet so idk if y’all noticed but Sam (the one “blocking” Armand) was one of the vampires that took Louis away to lock him in the coffin so that means Armand was left alone with NO supervision. So yeah, he could have done something about it. In fact, I wanna bet that he wasn’t the one that made the audience say “banishment” for Louis, just because I just don’t see lestat not doing anything about it and let Louis die like that scene felt off to me but I could be wrong.

Lestat is not himself , he is being controlled somehow, he himself has been tortured for who knows how long...it seems something has effected his ability to stop time-- He thinks is Armand is going to save his family and allow then to go back to New Orleans, but we know Armand wants Louis and wants Claudia gone. It seems he present day he has won....I want it all to crumble....everyone needs to be alone ...go their own ways and have a hard think on what they have done, their part in this tragedy. May Claudia haunt them forever 😢

Another exquisite episode. Good take on Claudia. What a tragic end for her and Madeline and possibly Louis! There is something so inherently grotesque about the vampire opera coven that their punishments along with making Armand watch were not surprising. All that being considered, Lestat owned the stage and the episode. Glad he is back.

😢BABY!!!!! Episode 14 was ROUGH! My heart was SHATTERED!😢😢😢 I don't believe Armad, when he claims he could not prevent it. I love how the writers gave Claudia that defiance until the bitter end. The reason why Claudia looked at Lestat before she died, that final look wasn't to punish Lestat. Hayles says it was "for help," Hayles says "she trusts him the most out of anyone in the room even though she hates him. They're familiar with each other, so she's turning to her parent for help" LESTAT PROBABLY COULDN'T EVEN MOVE AND JUST HAD TO WATCH HER- (PROBABLY FROM GETTING ALL MIND JACKED BY EITHER THE COVEN OR ARMAND) Louis, Claudia and Lestat were all getting mind jacked! 'I was concentrating so hard on his face(Lestat) and it was so sad. "She understood Claudia's last look to Lestat as how any child would look to a parent in a moment of distress. "The way that she looks is like all hope is lost, like, 'DAD, I NEED YOU" That's so sad, so heartbreaking! Even after everything 😭😭💔💔

First of all, Armand is over 500 years old. He is so powerful. Why the hell could he not put everyone to sleep, take them out of there? Or at least set vamps on fire??? Sam was blocking him, give me a break. That suit on Lestat, Jesus, he's never looked better & that profile, pretty hot & I'm a lesbian lol No one can script Lestat, he's always going off script. Santiago was pleased when he finally did. A story of love not butchery. Finally, the first look. So Lestat's version is the right one? As far as Claudia's transformation. Holy crap! Armand just sitting there, watching. He was the oldest most powerful vampire there, wtf??? It pissed me off. One of my favorite moments, Lestat moving so fast to the balcony & snarling at that homophobe. Sam Reid's performance was everything, pure brilliance. I mean the whole point of the books is that it's from different people's perspectives. Pretty much everybody is an unreliable narrator...some moreso than others. So I don't think anyone's specific perspective is 100% the truth... But Louis did say that Lestats version of The making of Claudia is the MORE TRUTHFUL version compared to the one that he told Daniel... But yeah there's like contradictions and pretty much every single Vampire Chronicles book... Potentially just due to how it took literal decades for her to write the book series... But no one is 100% truthful ...everyone has their own biases and stuff colouring things... We're going to get lestats version of events in season 3 but that DOESN'T mean that Lestats version is 1 million percent truthful compared to Louis... A lot of show fans think that when we get lestat's version it's going to be the absolute truth... But Lestats probably going to lie about some stuff too. It's all about differences in perspective not necessarily who is telling the most truth. 🤷‍♀️ Louis is the more unreliable narrator compared to Lestat, I suppose. Louis' in SO much denial due to his crippling guilt and grief. In both the book and the show.

I wondered if they would take it there too. Only, Armand would have to use the body of another strong female vampire because Madeline’s wouldn’t have worked. At least that’s what I thought, maybe her just being a vampire would work. I know the theory is that the vampire blood was considered in the healing and that’s why Armand thought it may be possible. I thought he needed a stronger source.

Yeah I'm so confused on what's true and what's not , like when Lestat said he and Louis had their physical fight back in Paris Louis was being needlessly cruel saying horrible things to Lestat and taunting him and I'm like this doesn't feel like something Louis would do and Lestat was holding back in their fight not out of anger but because he genuinely didn't want to hurt Louis or even kill him so I don't know if Lestat was lying about their fight or if he was being truthful because I didn't see Louis deny anything Lestat said about their fight 😭

Hi Matt & Jess. Another great episode of Interview with the vampire. Lestat Lestat Lestat ! He stole the show love him or hate him the performance as you said was the best. As well as Lois & Claudia’s. I wanted to cry for Claudia & Lois they were both treated horrible as extras in the covenant play, them suffer public humiliation. It was horrible to watch Claudia & Madeline die that way. We know Lois definitely got saved by Armand we presume. They mentioned Claudia’s ashes does this mean she could still be resurrected and take her revenge? This would be good to watch. I can’t wait for the finale I’m on the edge of my seat. I hope you both have a nice day and I look forward to your review of the finale.

I read somewhere that this season of Interview did not wrap up before the Emmy nominations this year. Can anyone clarify this? Also - it will be interesting to see how the showrunners deal with aging human actors when vampires do not age. I also think that Santiago is not an "ancient". Not sure, but I think during this time frame, he was only a vampire for 20 years or so. Someone correct me if I am wrong. 😊

Remember, we may not be getting the whole story. I don’t believe Armand was the one that saved Louis. I think y’all aren’t considering that Armand may be taking credit for what Lestat actually did. Armand can stop time and vampires! He could have prevented all of this. He’s an ancient vampire, you really think that one “guard” was keeping him captive? It makes more sense that Lestat was more at their mercy and that he was the one who fought to change the audience. There is so much y’all don’t know about Lestat and Armand, of course I’d never spoil anything and it’s so hard not to say things sometimes because I hate that we are still only getting Louis and Armand’s account of things. You’ve already seen that Louis has lied or misremembered things, even in his fight with Lestat he left out how far he actually took it. In his account Lestat was out of control, but in truth Louis was out of control and kept pushing Lestat. He said he was going to cut off his head and feed it to the lions! He beat Lestat’s face up, he felt all of that out of his first account of the fight. I really hope next season focuses on Lestat’s perspective and that we get a different view and the truth. As much as we love Claudia we can’t forget she had a tumultuous relationship with Lestat and she was in reality vicious herself. She embraced being a vampire and clashed with Lestat often. She unfairly blamed him for a lot of things and excused Louis. She believed what Louis told her about her creation, he let Lestat be the monster in so many situations. Lestat did everything he could to make Louis happy and gets the blame for anything that goes wrong. Sorry, I just hate that Lestat has been set up as the villain in Louis’s side. Again, I won’t spoil anything especially since we don’t know how the writer’s are going to take this but Lestat was Anne Rice’s favorite character out of all of her books, I think that says a lot. Hopefully, next season we get more truths about everything, including Armand’s account of things being corrected.

GUYS! please dont believe armand!! there is NO WAY shape OR form that he was a victim in this!!! he could put all of the people and vampires under with a flip of his hand!!! just like he did in the restaurant, theres a reason why that restaurant scene is there for us to see how powerful he is! he's 500 years old lmao how was he held captive by poor sam the vampire-playwright?? he is a liaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrr! and if you rewatch, the scene of claudia's turning he reinforces the idea that lestat is a liar and he did those ugly stuff but its louis that realizes that 'no lestat is right' you can see the look on armand's face. armand is realizing that louis isnt believing him. "lestat turns everything so that you dont know what is real and what isnt" armand's line is so the double edged sword because THATS HIM! he was caught 12 hours ago playing with their brains and memory lmaooo it was never lestat doing that! (also u can v clearly see that lestat is being controlled during this whole ordeal. who is strong enough to control him? hmm i wonder..)

I love how defiant Claudia was during to whole show. I truly believe that she is going to kill each and everyone in the theater. Once Madeline made here choice, Claudia was accepting of her fate. I thinkthey may split in the end, present day.

Jacob Anderson is by far the standout in each and every scene..his acting in every episode is what really sells this show...he has chemistry with every actor...they feed off of his charisma...they are all good actors, but if Jacob was not there, the scenes would not nearly be as effective...and i think the season cliffhanger will be Louis setting Lestat on fire (like in the books) for punishment of what he "thinks" he did to Claudia...

Ok… so I’ve come to a few realizations. Because I know about the books. All of these scenes with the interview, Louis’ memory may very well be distorted by Armand. Further more, Armand might’ve been distorting the trial as well and playing puppet strings. Yall are right to say he could have done more. He made an entire theater choose to say banishment instead of death! The tv show kind of shows this better than the book or movie ever could. But let’s say he isn’t. I think everyone talking about this isn’t understanding that Claudia shouldn’t have ever been made in the first place. That’s why I say I liked her, but when she died, I kind of felt relief because she would’ve been in mental warfare every second of her vampire life just because she was not developed as a woman yet. Her frontal lobe wasn’t even fully developed. The difference between someone growing up and vampire is, when she does something like kill a bunch of people. And Lestat and Louis have to clean up her mess. You can teach her to never do that again and the consequences of her actions if she was able to take that and learn from it. But Claudia is more than a perfect vampires she’s an undeveloped vampire💀. Further more, she would always have to be hidden away and her age would always have to be kept secret. Otherwise, covens like that would eat her alive. Something Lestat tried to warn the both of them of numerous times. Was he great at warning them? No. When he couldn’t get his point across, he decided dropping Louis like a comet would help. But they were warned of trying to find other vampires. Everyone says Lestat was holding them prisoner. But I’m starting to see exactly why he didn’t want them to leave… besides him loving Louis and whether he wants to admit or not, loving Claudia too.

Just got back from a long trip to Memphis for my birthday and now my headache has turned into a full blown migraine. I literally sobbed like a baby when Claudia began to burn away. She was my favorite character in the series and I’ve been dreading the season finale for a while now. The way that she looked at Lestat as the fear began to overtake her in her final moments just pains me. Regardless of what Claudia did in the past that was still Lestats little girl in his eyes. Though he probably knew this moment would be inevitable. You already know that her death with haunt him for centuries to come. Especially since she was literally a symbolic band-aid for his relationship with Louis. In the book he weeped over her dress. I wonder if In the series he will preserve it and give it to Louis as a gift.

Is the “don’t make a cripple a vampire” in the books? Anyone know?

From what book readers have told me...yes. It's something from the books. Any physical disability that a person has before they are made into a vampire stays with them in their Vampire life. So there's a rule to not make anybody physically disabled into a vampire. Like if you're an amputee as a human you're going to stay an amputee as a vampire... But if a limb gets amputated when you are a vampire there are ways to reattach that limb so you don't stay physically disabled.... The severed limb just kinda... wiggles its way back onto your body. I mean the books also say that vampires don't experience mental illness in the same way that humans do but both Nicki and Louis VERY clearly suffered from severe depression... So I honestly don't really buy that piece of lore even if it is lore from the books... Cuz like mental illness symptoms are mental illness symptoms... if you're displaying them then you're mentally ill, you know?

I feel the show failed when it stuck more in grey, boring penthouse Dubai and didn’t give us Claudia’s college adventures outside of SA, episodes of Louie and Claudia traveling in Europe more and your idea of Madeline and Claudia venturing off. More fun, epic vampire show ideas. I honestly thought Madeline would take the theater coven’s offer of joining them and maybe reconstitute Claudia’s ashes later. Yet I am glad they just didn’t kill Claudia in the rat box early on. :/
