Carters Steam Fair - Lightning Skid - Emotional FINAL RIDE With Staff 2022

This was very unexpected as I had already left the last ever Carters Steam Fair but I headed back in as I heard the Skid still going round
As I got closer to Carters beautiful vintage Lightning Skid we was all called up to jump on and have one final ride with the legendary Wayne the ride operator
This was one of the most surreal moments of my life having one last ride with most of the staff on what is without a doubt the best and most popular ride at Carters Steam Fair
Carters Steam Fair ended its FINAL TOUR at Prospect Park in Reading on the 29th October 2022………fingers crossed it will return in the future at a permanent location within the UK

Although I always watch your vlogs so knew about the steam fair, we only attended our first carters fair at Croxley green this year. (Due to being miles away from the locations they go to). I’m an enthusiast and been to quite a few places and I can honestly say the magic and atmosphere was second to none and beat any fair or theme park hands down in my opinion. We did a 140 mile round trip on Saturday evening and again, what an atmosphere and the place was packed out. I’m gutted this is it and really hope something good happens with all of this. Them rides are too good to be left in storage. Never ever have we come away from a fair buzzing like we did at Carters. All the best to Joby and his family and thanks for the memories we now have.

So sad to see an era coming to an end, I've only ridden on the Lightning Skid once - this year in Hemel Hempstead, flew there from Poland only to see the fair before it's gone, the ride was AWESOME! I really hope they will find a permanent location and we, funfair enthusiasts will be able to enjoy those awesome rides. Looking forward for the full vlog to see this beautiful fair again

Hi Andy Sad end of an era a great classic ride in wonderful restored condition, you know how I love the Skid and yes I managed to ride it back in July on my Birthday at Lichfield Park! Spoke to Toby as well brilliant time, really pleased you got on the last ride matey let's hope it finds a permanent home so we can ride again in the future 👍 Great Vblog as always and well done for getting to Great Yarmouths model Village I knew you would really enjoy it ! thanks for uploading as I see another of new thing's have been added. The fair is on its final tour. It’s a traditional fair and full operated on steam

They are not touring the whole fair now and it's being stored hopefully pending possible permanent indoor site or maybe sold on as a complete package or in parts

Carters Steam Fair has come to an end as in traveling form anyway as it’s up for sale (the whole fair that is) do this was the last EVER ride

@@Coaster_Crazy that's sad😔 but glad you got to enjoy one last ride. There doesn't seem to be many steam fairs. So in a way it feel like when a theme park goes ghost town. Like the rides are still there, but the park has been out of use and grown up. Hopefully they find a good place to put these rides so people can enjoy them year round.
