Carthage Infantry | Hail Caesar Epic Battles | Punic Wars - Warlord Games - Part 1

How EPIC are these?! Warlord Games kindly sent me some samples sprues for their new range of Hail Caesar Epic Battles range focusing on the 2nd Punic War. This war was fought between the armies of Rome and Carthage with their associated Allies. These are full of amazing details as well as the feel of the truly epic size that Warlord are trying to achieve. If you haven't heard about Hannibal Barca, he was one of the worlds greatest tacticians and came extremely close to bringing Rome to it's knees. The 2nd Punic war is going to be amazing to battle in this Epic Battles scale!
We start this mammoth painting journey by showing you how to paint Hannibal's Iberian Scutarii. Carthage had a huge mix of different types of soldiers but these were some of his better infantry. Painting Epic 12mm Infantry for the second Punic War is certainly a challenge but hopefully this painting tutorial will give you a little more confidence when painting these amazing miniatures from Warlord Games.

Firstly, absolutely beautiful, probably the best Epic paint job that I have seen …… but, I feel in these battle boxes, there is a conflict between top paint jobs and the mass of figures that need to be got through, especially if like me, you still have other open Epic projects that are ongoing. It probably goes against all of your painting professionalism / discipline, but the most useful video to me would be how to get that base to the table quickly …. But for it to still be reasonable looking, I’m not even sure that that is an achievable goal with detail that these things are giving us.

Thanks a lot for the reply and constructive feedback 😀 I certainly understand your point! I actually think that I can get one stand painted in 1.5hrs without losing the detail. It's all about how I plan it, I should focus my attention on the details of the front on one and then the other just the backs. That saves a ton of time. I probably wouldn't attempt to paint them in a different method just because you have plenty of other videos on KZbin that cover that with speed paints, etc. It's given me a lot to think about though 🤔 thanks again buddy!

@@paintingpanzers I started painting 28mm scale miniatures about 10 years ago Always wanted to paint a massive army I have done quite a few different armies from different periods but find a 28mm scale is too big to do this Roman 15mm changes this my army will be massive 😀 I am wondering how the warlord's epic-scale Punic Wars miniatures will scale with other miniatures like Cromarty Forge 15mm 🤔 🤔
