You’re loosing a lot of time by going over the curbs in some of the corners. Your wheels lift off a bunch coming off of them and you loose grip and you’re not able to accelerate as quickly. EDIT: The liftoff and loss of grip is also what is causing you to go wide in a lot of the corners and go into the grass.

Alex mate, a lil tip for some fine tuning. Upgrading the front and rear anti roll cars can change the car's handling balance quite significantly. Its a good idea to fine tune this setup with damper settings, camber settings and tire pressures. Watch the Slowmo again and you'll see the car understeer at the apex, it appear the front might be abit too stiff with the previous suspension damper settings AND the new anti roll bar. Try to soften the front damper by two clicks to get better turn in. If the problem is oversteer (rear axle) soften the damper by two clicks. Of course all these takes time but at the end of the series dial all these stuff in and you should be even faster! :)) Btw I'm loving this series! thumbs up if you like it too! :))
@scoobygms2106 жыл бұрын
The most important part of going faster is tuning your parts and ailment you just can’t bolt on parts and go faster they should be showing the tire temps and wear and adjusting the seat bars and alignment to maximize grip -__-
@meinmotorsportkanalschmit75136 жыл бұрын
One point is missing here... The geometry of the car. Very cheap is to buy a IR thermometer and check the temperature distribution on the tyres. In case you have too much temperature on the inside you can adjust the camber more positive. Or more toe in etc. When I see you car in slow motion I can see that the tyre is deforming, even if the rim looks okay. Please go on the track and check the temperature distribution! I would expect min. -0,5s by a professional setup.

I put stiffer front and rear ARB on my old Impreza and it introduced more understeer on turn in. I put the standard front ARB back on and the car was fantabulous. The stiffer rear definitely helped it feel nicer on power coming out of corners. Whether it was faster or not I don’t know, because I didn’t have a maste with a stop watch like you do, but it felt great.
@404nobrakes2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the lack of improvement could be down to the change in balance. Could be too much oversteer, leading to inadequate power delivery/exit speed. That's why adjustable sway bars are MUCH better.
@houseking9211 Жыл бұрын

All the suspension and brake mods combined were a third as effective as getting better tires. In my opinion, suspension upgrades are highly overrated considering their cost-to-performance factor. I've tested dozens of tires on the two cars I've owned, and I've found that tire choice is one of the most important things you can make on your car. Most people only think about how long they last, or how loud they are, not how they perform or handle. I'd save my money on the suspension and spend it on getting the right tires for the car, even if that means replacing them more often.

So am I the only one thinking that all they're proving is that these mods are mostly a pointless waste of money? They've made the car stiff and more uncomfortable and that barely made it any faster at all, the bulk of the improvement so far has been from simply fitting better tyres. Making a car corner flatter doesn't always mean it will actually go around the corner faster, even if it might "feel" like it. BMW knew what they were doing when they set up the suspension and realistically you're not going to do better by just throwing in stiffer aftermarket bits. A decent set of tyres and a remap would have probably shaved off several seconds already.

Smallest differences do biggest changes, so what about clutch stop bolt mod, so you don't over-press clutch and save time, this car uses electric throttle. Sprint booster is proven to increase throttle's responsiveness

Really digging the show. The results so far are extremely exciting and I cant wait to begin a similar process with my 325it e46 (U.S. spec). Cant wait to see more. So jealous of that 6spd. I only got 5.

a bit unfair as the E92 M3 wasn't stripped down also

also unfair to people that don't have such wagons in their markets and that drool at the idea of having this car
@TheSh4rK6 жыл бұрын
@@thegreatfalcon5 what? How do you not have this car on your market? Where are you from? Mars?

The Shark Canada but as far as I know we didn't get the E46 wagon diesel... only the gas sedans and wagons
@TheSh4rK6 жыл бұрын
oh, I see, i'm sorry dude.. I'm not really a fan of diesel cars, i think you'd be better off with a gas one, but heck, do your thing

The tyres may be good but you definitely lose at least 2mph just on how ugly those rims are.

This is why it takes me so long to do things. I would have cleaned up and painted that sub-frame while it was out of the car.
