There is a legit and related question though and that is are these small incremental lap time savings due to the changes to the car or Alex getting more used to it on this track? The tyres and brakes will obviously make a difference but with these things...?

All the rest made only marginal gains and actually could be explained by learning the track and car better.

Something like a dunlop direzza z3, bridgestone re71r, or bf Goodrich rival s would give much more grip not to mention feedback which would in turn help the driver utilize all of the tyres grip. Dont understand why they cheaped out on pretty much the most important item for improvement of laptimes.

Geo: fr 3.5 neg 0.05 toe out each side , rear 2.2 neg 0.10 toe in each side . Retry the test . By the looks car still wants to push the front due to Mcpherson type of suspension pushing the hub to positive camber under loads , lack of lsd doesnt help either . By the looks the way the wheels sit , its very mild setup , and you aint having quick times with that.

I think, better thing than more power is less weight 😊 (like Chapmann said: power give you speed on strights, less weight give you speed everywere) if you throw away an interior, audio and some other things it will be the second best mod after wheel and tyres 😎 one only thing is to keep good mass balance, not only lightened the back end 😉 your tyres will bee thankfoul for that 😜 After that (or before) you need bucket seats and harness.

You’re loosing a lot of time by going over the curbs in some of the corners. Your wheels lift off a bunch coming off of them and you loose grip and you’re not able to accelerate as quickly. EDIT: The liftoff and loss of grip is also what is causing you to go wide in a lot of the corners and go into the grass.

Would be great to see a lot more of these parts on the store available for the mk1 Octavia (1U). Especially as seeing Miles on the channel helped convince me to buy one

Love the channel. Before you add power you should fit a limited slip diff so you can put the power to the road, corner exit speeds will vastly improve as you are able to go on the power sooner.

I love this channel. It's a mix of Top Gear (a bit bonkers), Wheeler Dealers (good mechanical advice) and Fifth Gear (reviews and comparisons). There's great chemistry between everyone and no big egos. It really should be on TV 👍

Hi Alex. Great project:). I believe for you to go faster still without increase in power is to service the car. You can use that to say you need a tip top condition engine before increasing.

I had a set of Hotchkis anti roll bars with polyurethan bushings installed on my Nissan 370Z 6MT sport pkg a couple of years ago. It definitely reduced body roll during cornering and sharpened the turn in approaching corners. The tradeoff was increased ride harshness, but that wasn't a big deal.

Alex mate, a lil tip for some fine tuning. Upgrading the front and rear anti roll cars can change the car's handling balance quite significantly. Its a good idea to fine tune this setup with damper settings, camber settings and tire pressures. Watch the Slowmo again and you'll see the car understeer at the apex, it appear the front might be abit too stiff with the previous suspension damper settings AND the new anti roll bar. Try to soften the front damper by two clicks to get better turn in. If the problem is oversteer (rear axle) soften the damper by two clicks. Of course all these takes time but at the end of the series dial all these stuff in and you should be even faster! :)) Btw I'm loving this series! thumbs up if you like it too! :))
