For anyone struggling to understand what is happening: Cam Timing - The BMW M42/4 engines have adjustable timing gears. The intake cam has been advanced, probably ~5 degrees. Any mechanic can do this for you if you ask and was part of a regular service bulletin with the cars. Throttle Body: The TB is a dual-stage to improve partial load response. As the volume behind the TB hasn't changed and neither has the diameter of the TB this will have no effect. Manifold: Bruno has cut the area behind the TB to try and improve flow. This is a misunderstanding of the design of the original part. Tune: This is where all the change in power has come from and is typical for these cars. Filter: This has removed the helmholtz resonator on the original intake which why you can hear the 'squeak'
@DashCamSerbia3 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Most "tuners" think they know better than the engineers who spent hundreds or thousands of engineering hours on designing and optimising a part. And then they just changed it without understanding anything, and think it is "better". And of course, charge you money for it.
