This week, Ethan is tasked with buying himself a cheap daily without ANY help from Edwin or Jack. Will he be able to find a diamond in the rough on Facebook marketplace, or will he end up buying a rusty old wagon without any help? To make it even better, we'll DIY modify whatever car he buys to give it that little touch of cool everyone wants in a daily driver.

Genuinely loved this episode seeing "boring" or daily cars getting alittle spruced up is nice we often forget that not all the hype cars we see now weren't always hype some started as normal cars someone decided to give alittle extra love and other people saw it and realized you can make anything nice I'd love to see more of Ethans Skoda with small mod like a new shift cover and stuff because it keeps thing grounded as this is a car anyone can own

Not all old VAG 1.9 TDI are automatically PD's. Few people know that Skoda also produced a 1.9 w/ electronic injection, the 110 BHP variant w/ motor code AHF between 1997 and 2006.

In Vw, the 1.9 Tdi 110 hp is a VP engine not the PD which also is knonw as a more reliable than a PD

as a 25 year lover of vws, i totally approve of this one as well. the 1.9 is a fantastic engine, and an estate is just so useful and handy. its super clean, and obviously well kept. i'd drive it for sure!

Actually surprised and a bit jelous he got such a good car. He did it all by himself and "accidentally" bought a really preserved car with no visable rust on it and one of the best diesel engines out there that not only very reliable but also quite economic. I miss seeing Alex every now and then but Edwin definitely gives them the flair they needed. So now Ethan got himself yet another Skoda to drive... Roadtrip to Czech Republic to see where Skoda started?

As an old skoda mechanic I can remember pdi the mk1 octavia and absolutely loving it .I've had many skodas over the years from a 120LSE estelle to the latest skoda superb 2.0 190 tdi dsg sel executive estate. Really love what you have done to the estate, just needs a professional detail and a full full service and it's good to go .brilliant choice 👍❤️

Very nice, but it's NOT A PD. It's the older, even more bulletproof 1.9TDI VP, different injection, uses an old fashioned rotary pump instead of unit injectors in the PD. Pretty much the exact same engine Miles had, only slightly more powerful.

I've bought myself a similar one, except mine has got 4x4 and leather interior an xenon lights. Bloody great daily driver, the torque'y engine pulls up any hill and doesn't struggle anywhere, the stock suspension is comfortable enough, the 6 speed gearbox shifts buttery smooth... no major leaks, no cracking, very little rust. There is a reason why these cars are deemed to be unkillable - Skodas are cheap to buy and maintain, they're so popular any repair shop knows how to work on these, and if you don't abuse them, they can be very reliable. And that 1.9 TDi PD man.... they're known to run over 600.000 miles with no major issiues if you hit your maintenance intervals.
