So around about the time phil died, my 04 MX-5 SE had the thermostat seize and the heads and head gasket were cooked. After 9 weeks in the shop, I got it back on Tuesday. I know what it's like to have to wait to be reunited with your beloved car, so a heartfelt congrats to getting Phil back!

What a trip! Driving your own track day car till Nurburgring and then making a full throttle lap is the BEST way to broke an engine. I can feel, despite its leaking oil, Phill was happy. The Miata's smiling face fit perfectly to the situation.

Alex, since 2 weeks ago, i got my first car. A Mx-5. It's a MB2 but i love it so much! I fitted a Green SpeedR Sport Filter and it changed the sound and feeling of the car completely!!! I massively recommand it to you, even for the price of 200 euros...

Do a Cylinder leak down Test. I would guess it is a broken piston ring. I have the same problem with my lawn tractor. But my Lawn tractor puked the hot oil on my skin.

AA European insurance is your friend. The water pump on my Discovery popped at the 'ring last year, called them up and got it recovered by the same guys who recover all the crashed stuff within hours, they paid for a flight home, a hire car for a day and sent an AA truck over to pick it up in Germany the next week. The cost for all that? £75!

I went to Nurburg for the 24 hours. When I leave the ring, I saw Phil (but I wasn't sure if it was him or not). But seeing the video and I got the proof it was him. I should have make a selfie with him. :( Good to know he's gonna be alive one day. :)
