@@EinkOLED Nah, I drove the 24 hour rental smart 4/4 to go get car parts. My 330ci only gets 30mpg, renting a shitbox was the cheapest way. Fort William to Portsmouth and back.

It’s basically a bus version of the Transit Connect. There is also the Tourneo custom but they don’t make the Tourneo by itself anymore

I drive a connect everyday, but a commercial one. 1.5tdci 120hp. It's just brilliant for a van, really love it.

700 miles (1100 km?) with 2 tanks of diesel? Wtf? I'm pretty confident a 335d can do that, and it has 4 times the power that ford have..

the 335d cant do 550k on a tank. and doesnt have 360hp. It needs like 10l diesel per 100k, the ford needs like 7. yeah obviously much more fun in the 335 but that's not what the ford is about haha

I'm positive 335d can do 7-8ish on cruise control at ~110-120 km/h on the motorway. And that "4 times more" was a roughly approximation. Saying 3.2947368 (Actual 313 / 95) would sound kinda bad. Maybe not more economical but is still a lot more powerful and the fuel consumption on cruise control at motorway speeds is somewhat comparable. I still think 1100 km with 2 tanks is pretty bad for 95 bhp, a 2.0 TDI passat shows a little over 1000 km on the dashboard if I fill the gas tank km till empty.

Andrei Vlad Indeed, 2 tanks is poor but it depends on tank size and how it was driven. I can get 700 miles on a 70l tank in my Mondeo Diesel Auto if I totally drive like a granny, but foot down on the autobahn and take it to top speed at every possible opportunity and that drops to less than 500 miles

I done 850 mile in my transit connect its the 6 speed 115ps manual, leather streering wheel, heated glass, ford alloys, moon dust silver, heated seat and ac you would of enjoyed that journey in my van i thinks

@@alexkersten1964 you buy them to do a job, not to enjoy the drive. however for a converted van, they do drive quite well, even if they are quite slow for a car. but smaller engines are good for UK fuel prices

I wonder why Ford doesn't use tourneo name in North America. Both passenger and cargo versions of this mini van are called Transit Connect. Same with the big ass van, both cargo and passenger as well as the chassis cab are Transit. But then no one cares, the previous big ass vans and chassis cabs were all Econoline. Ford sells a bunch of vans regardless of their name due to them being RWD and superior to GM. I actually hate what ford did to the North American models though. no rear fog lights, at least there aren't if you don't get the dealer to activate them. They are very useful but many Ameircans use fog lights for aesthetic purposes and turn them on whenever their headlights are on…

I think it's more important to differentiate in Europe because vans are more popular in general. Yes, the RAM 1500 with it's 5.7 V8 is the best sold pick-up in Western Europe, but it's mainly driven by regular people that travel from A to B without any cargo... Whereas a pickup is very common in the U.S. as a company car. That's almost never the case over here, and vans seem so much more practical. I think this is going to be supposed to be the family van, and I think they all look ugly (a VW Caddy or a VW Transporter T5 Passenger, a Citroën Berlingo, ...) but, they usually come with smaller diesel engines that make enough torque (obviously, the U.S. using mainly naturally aspirated gas engines, and Europe using pretty much nothing but smaller turbocharged gas / diesel engines, a 1.6 gasser makes the same torque as your 3.0 V6 and a diesel would make even more torque) and I think they're in a different registration class (= less taxes), but I'm not quite sure. Where an American family might use a Suburban to drive around 7 people, a European might use some kind of 'van' like this. Or an MPV, and they're both 'not cool'. Suburbans do exist over here (Chevy currently only sells their sportscars, including Corvette and all Caddilac models in Europe), but they either have 4 seats for lower taxes, and those that have all 7 seats, are obviously expensive to get registered and in yearly taxes because of it's 5.3 V8. They usually get sold by these dealerships that sell all new cars from kinds of brands, they have some of them quite often.
