A beautiful watch. Three issues, though. First, I would have preferred a display case back. Second, I heard that the case scratches fairly easily. Third, the power reserve seems rather limited for the price range. If it were purely a dress watch worn for special occasions, the power reserve might be acceptable. But as it is, it should be at least 55 hours.

if you wear it carefully the bezel doesnt scratch as easily as they say. Put your watch on after your shirts though. You are right about the power reserve. it sucks and the winding efficiency isnt great either. Still a great watch

Why not keep the Watchbox brand? You’ve got thousands of videos with brand value and throwing it away for a generic lame name like “1916” is a waste of sweat equity. So many companies across industries have fallen for using a date as a name - they have done nothing but throw good money away at a number that will never mean anything to the consumer.

@@dropthebag it’s just a shame though. Watchbox resonated as a brand. Even Govberg would be better. Naming your company after a year is bound to have no traction. Can’t think of a single tome it’s worked out of dozens of examples. Unless it’s a date that’s meaningful for the consumer it won’t mean anything to them. This is pure corporate naming with no heritage.

That is the reason why the executives at Govberg are paid the "big bucks". 3 Rolex Authorized Dealers merged together from across the US to form the 1916 Corporation. The bigger question is whether the 1916 Corporation will get a larger slice of Rolex allocation over other large chains like Watches of Switzerland. The WatchBox no longer sells Rolex (used or new), so in essence The WatchBox sells every other brand instead.

Oddly, more versatile than the white dial. Love how the green reveals itself for the wearer only. Will stand the test of time once the green trend starts to wane imo…

only downside of medium dial is if its lets say 10:52 its hard to see if the time is really 10:52 or 10:53

I love the Cartier Santos, but I am having a hard time deciding if the medium or large is a better fit for my 6.5" wrist. I have tried them both on and neither jumps out as "the one". I prefer round watches 39 to 41 MM. I wanted to ask Tim's loyal viewers if they had to make the same tough decision, and why you chose the size you did. I also just learned in this video that the Cartier steel is prone to scratching, so I wanted to ask the viewers what has been your wearing experience over several months/years?

Medium, like Tim said, a square watch wears bigger. The large is almost 40mm, that wears more like a 42

The width is actually 35.1mm including the crown guard. Without it, side to side is 32.5mm.

Think they miss a beat by not having a see through case back so you can see the movement. The skeleton version is more than 3x more expensive than the regular version in my local boutique which is just ridiculous.
