This captivate me when I was a kid. Because it was unusual, and not just for the black and white... I guess it was the dark vibe of the song mixed with the crazy style of an old cartoon (everything fits so well). Not creepy at all (to me at least), it was just so fascinating to see.

It aired primarily late night on Cartoon Network but it did occasionally pop out during the day. It was policy in the original days to only air black and white at night because Ted Turner had his issues with black and white. There were some attempts to bring black and white to daytime but they never took.

Being born in 95, I knew who she was, but that could be for many reasons. That could be because I liked watching Popeye and probably saw a Betty boop cartoon. My sister did have a betty boop blanket with her name on it. Or I could’ve learned about her watching ToonHeads. It’s just one of things I just always knew about

Back in the 90's and early 00's, both Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. deliberately paid a lot of reverence to old cartoons like Looney Toons, Tom & Jerry, Tex Avery, etc. I'd suspect plenty of kids then, even tangentially, knew who Betty Boop was by virtue of the fact that they knew of the era of cartoons she came from. As far as kids today are concerned, I'm willing to bet a lot of kids found out about her through the Cuphead game.

@fenomozo9108
@fenomozo9108 8 жыл бұрын
@hache-hiwattan7848
@hache-hiwattan7848 8 жыл бұрын
No puedes.
@fenomozo9108
@fenomozo9108 8 жыл бұрын
@hache-hiwattan7848
@hache-hiwattan7848 8 жыл бұрын

If the B&W cartoons were shown, they probably would have been on Late Night Black and White, along with B&W Merrie Melodies, Captain and The Kids (late 30's MGM cartoon series), and B&W Popeye cartoons.

Jaime Jr Aragon Because Cartoon Network's parent company, Turner Broadcasting, owned the Popeye cartoons from Paramount. The Superman cartoons were bought by WB upon their purchase of DC Comics in the late 60's, and as for the rest of the pre-1950 Paramount cartoon library, after nearly half a century in the hands of NTA, Paramount owns them once again.

Blew my mind when I read the liner notes to Soul Coughing's Best Of album and learned this song was about being addicted to E.

This Groovy actually got me really interested in Soul Coughing later on. After listening to their other stuff; this is REALLY tame. Still though, Soul Coughing is awesome, and Cartoon Network is also awesome for showing it to me.

One, why did it traumatize you? 2, why did more people up vote this? I mean, it's a cartoon. What's traumatizing about A cartoon? Or is it a joke I'm missing? Sorry for all the spell errors and I'm not antagonizing at all just curious

Charles Smith It's a cartoon, and it's also a very distorted and bizarre version of reality. Only some bunch of guys in drugs could have made a video like this.

This is the reason why people say nothing beats the classics. It's great and easily enjoyable. Too bad most cartoons nowadays don't make things as easy to enjoy as this.
