Cartoon Network: Punch Time Explosion XL vs MultiVersus - Samurai Jack Animation/Moveset Comparison

With the beginning of MultiVersus' 2nd season, Samurai Jack was also added as a playable character for the game. Out of everyone in MultiVersus' roster so far, Samurai Jack is actually the first character to have previously appeared in Cartoon Network: Punch Time Explosion (and the updated XL port for consoles). Thus, this video showcases the differences between Samurai Jack in both game appearances between animations to the in-game movesets.
As footage for Punch Time Explosion XL was recorded with RPCS3, aspects such as visual & audio might not be accurate to the actual game (this also may not apply if these are native to the actual PlayStation 3 port itself compared to the Wii & Xbox 360 versions).

@@thegam3rcube686 PTE Jack is more of a rushdown fighter than a technical character like Marth. I like calling him fox with a sword

@@vaporcran4 Maybe. He actually does have a tipper mechanic on down smash but it only changes how much knockback is dealt rather than damage. He's a very movement and combo focused character with some of the fastest attacks in the game. His moveset works very well with PTE's overall rushdown centric and fast paced gameplay.

Even though PTE has more actions in its moveset, Multiversus' just looks a lot less jank and more polished visually

Thanks for making this video! I was hoping someone would make a comparison video at some point. It's wild to see how different the two are but it makes sense. I hope you make one for PPG even though they will definitely play differently and probably have zero similarities due to being a 3-in-1 character versus three separate characters.

It's still kinda crazy how similar their moveset is. They just made Jack slower and more of a bruiser than assassin in Multiversus Also Jack's PTE gives a 1.5x damage boost... Except to grab. For some reason grab's damage doesn't change at all.

You forgot to include that the Multiversus Samurai Jack's Ground Neutral Special Counter will shoot out a projectile when countering a projectile regardless of Focus Meter

Ngl, Multiversus is better overall, but PTE somehow portrays Jack's sword to be sharp and deadly. It looks blunt in Multiversus like it's a bat.

​​​@@Batt1nsonsolos and the sound design. It sounds audibly sharp in PTE, but Multiversus somehow decided that a "vwoop" sound is the sound made by a cutting weapon. It ends up making it sound blunt, and possibly even soft.
