Cartoon Network UK Continuity and Adverts (January 2006) - Gondarth's Recordable Fridays

First up in this new series, we have a DVD previously featured in the Cartoon Network edition of Gondarth Talks. This DVD covers 11pm to 12:53am on an unknown day in January 2006, during which we look at my favourite Cartoon Network period, the two hour Cartoon Cartoon block. This was the second lineup in the block, when I M Weasel was replaced by Time Squad... I would also like to apologise for the incredibly repetitive adverts and commercials... Unfortunately, that was a regular thing during Cartoon Cartoons. With 2 hours worth of nostalgic entertainment comes the same godforsaken promos every 15 to 30 minutes!!!

The same promos were probably repeated due to it being late at night. A more varied amount would’ve been shown during daytime hours.

Yeah, pretty much. Less viewers at 11pm as opposed to during the day or even primetime. Whatever does air is most likely promotions for Cartoon Network. Hell, by the time Gadget Boy aired for 3 hours during the graveyard shift, absolutely zero ads ran.

@@Gondarth Yes. Also, notice the amount of old programmes. However, some programmes that would’ve run during daytime hours, such as “HiHi Puffy AmiYumi”, were shown late at night as well. However, older programmes greatly outnumbered the number of recent ones.

@@nomrdweller8066 I mean, 2004-07 was probably the most balanced the channel ever was between new and old. You'd have classic stuff like the Cartoon Cartoons, even older things like Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, occasionally Wacky Races and Top Cat, old stuff from the 60s, and then you'd have new content like Ben 10, Camp Lazlo, Puffy Ami Yumi, stuff like that.

In the 2000s, Cartoon Cartoons would air every night. I believe the DVD menu said it was the 13th, but the fact it was a Friday is pure coincidence.

Got any recordings with Samurai Jack or EEnE? By the way, MEGA has download limits so free users cannot download the entire uncut VHS, you're going to have to upload them somewhere else.

Seriously? They can't download them? Is there a limit to how many you can download at any one time, or is there a size limit? Now Samurai Jack... My girlfriend loves it, but I never actually watched it. Ed Edd n Eddy, on the other hand, is my all time favourite cartoon, so I should have many recordings... And yet all I have is the Cartoon Cartoon recordings. So is there an alternate video site I could post these on? I need somewhere with no time or file size limit, and very lenient copyright rules...

There's a size limit and it won't let me continue to download it unless I pay for a premium account. So it really sucks. I would like to see more of EEnE episodes and hopefully some Samurai Jack promos (I'm assuming you might not have any episodes of it) and I think the best video site for downloading stuff is Dropbox, 4shared or Mediafire. I'm not entirely sure to be honest. Honestly it's really awesome that you are bringing these tapes to the internet, a lot of us love to have that nostalgia of watching the old CN.

***** Well thanks. Glad you enjoy these. If you find a video site, let me know. There has to be no limits and lenient copyright, and there has to be no download or viewing time limits before the files are removed. I'm tempted to look into Veoh, and see if that works. I might look into Mediafire and such. I don't want my viewers to have tp pay for these videos.

I recorded this on DVD and posted it online a few years back, and forgot about the disc once it became entangled on my collection. It was before Megaupload died off.

I see that but he claimed it as his and there was a comment from him that says he has recorded 3 DVDs and this is what he said... “For those who are interested, I remember recording at least 3 DVDs, probably more, and 1 video of Cartoon Cartoons. However at the current moment, I am only able to locate or rip 1 DVD, which is the one you are watching. If I had known less than 2 years later that Toon City would no longer be in use, I would have recorded more DVDs” Seems that he is joking.
