Fun fact: coming from a band kid that’s been in marching band and had to wear the uniforms, that “fluffy bit coming out the top” is called a plume (pronounced ploom) and it’s a thing that’s made of fake feathers and it attaches to the hat (which is called a shako hat). It gets very sweaty and hot in those during marching season since I live in a state where summers are unbearably hot (yet winters are very cold)
