CarTorque Episode 9: Iso Grifo

The Iso is the perfect combination of Italian engineering and American muscle. With only 30 Iso's built in right hand drive, this is an extremely rare example of the highly prized and sought after marque. This Iso was found by a father and son in a barn in the U.S. and transported back to Australia where is was lovingly brought back to life. It is an exquisite car that is beautiful to look at and a beast to drive.

Hi thanks for all of your kind comments. Our Grifo was originally sold in London to the British actor David Niven and that is why it is right hand drive. It is one of only 30 right hand drives made. It was shipped to the USA in the 70's but never driven because it was so rusted and in need of restoration. It's funny to see the comments about people owning a Matchbox Grifo as a child. My mum bought me one and I always dreamed I could own a real one. Sometimes life's dreams come true.

How did you manage to find a right hand drive Iso in the US? The standard model is left hand drive, like all Italian and American cars are, so the US model Iso is also left hand drive. Right hand drive cars are exceptionally rare in the US.
