I built a mini engine in 1990, 1310cc with BVH, scatter cam etc etc, 92hp and that was 92hp of brilliant memories. 😎

Used to love watching this man on the Oran Park circuit shortly after it opened. He was up there with the best of the Improved Production Cooper S's.

I never realised it at the time but the 80s were the best time to be owning some of the great cars at that time. Minis capris escorts. Had them all Imps. Mk1 cortina. If I knew what was going to happen with them Had some really nice ones aswell. Xr3s. Now drive a normal square box.

Just Love It ...great video,.... - I have 3 minis Morris.Oct 1967 .... Leyland..Clubman 1979 UK import ....( Australia stop production in 1978 ) and Rover 1994 COOPER SPI ..( imported from Japan ) ... all I need is the Austin...... for the box set.. (no BMW - that ain't a mini... more like a MAXI.... pad) The Morris I just found.. has been off the road since Sept 1990.. and... " GENUINE Cooper S Mk1 " :) all the numbers.. all the parts in boxes..half done abandon resto... NOW being restored to HOPEFULLY like the cars in the video.. ( professional - not a backyard ) FYI Bathust .. 1966 ... MINI 1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th - 5th - 6th - 7th - 8th - 9th

Clint Eastwood's face if the mini engine is anything like the FIA minis in uk its probably a 1293cc, twin H4 carbs, SW23 cam etc, or atleast something similar

Just shows how teams and mechanics in Australia and New Zealand built speed themselves as you could buy the parts or they were lots of $$$$
