This video explains how to add your bits to the database. I just wasted daystrying to figure this out. Carveco should advise subscribers like me, new ones, that this video is an essential video for learning the software inho. Thamk you for sharing it.

Hi Michael, when you subscribed, you should have received an email that explains how to get support and how to access our tutorials (it may have gone into your junk folder though?!) - learn.carveco.com/

@@Carveco Yes, thank you. Now that I have been able to add tools, another big problem has STOPPED me from proceeding with making anything. My text will on;ly type vertically. Cannot get it to change back to horizontal. I did nothing to change it, this is the type of thing that makes your software package challenging to a beginner like me. Any help please would be appreciated. Thank you .

Please add in a future update just “starring” a FAVORITE tool and having those tools moved to a favorite tools folder. This way it will be easy to find a tool we use over and over without having to put in manufacturers specs after creating a separate group of tools. I want to be able to use manufacturers specs on tools but access them easy without having to find it in a long list under Amana. Thank you guys!!

Hi Timothy, you can drag an drop any tools from the database into a folder you create; such as 'My Tools' or 'Favourites' for example. Although this will move the tool from its original location to your new folder. To preserve a copy of the tool in it's original group: select a tool > click 'Copy' > then drag the copy into your new folder. I've created a short video to show what I mean: kzbin.info/www/bejne/baLJiIScnd-Lo8U Hope that helps!

@@Carveco I need to practice this a bit more, couldn't get drag & drop working to select my specific group of bits. Great that CarveCo will adjust imperial/metric on the fly and you don't have to redefine every tool & dimension with a calculator!

Where do I add the cutting length of the bit? I am adding a 1/32 end mill with a maximum cutting depth of 1/8 inch. I am assuming this is important for the CNC, but I do not know where it goes in the Carveco tool database.
@Carveco Жыл бұрын
Hi Dean, the maximum cutting depth of 1/8" means that the maximum "stepdown" in the tool database is 1/8". It can be smaller than this (this is the depth of cut) but cannot be larger.

It would be nice if Carveco can offer Amana and Whiteside tool bases. The Amana tool base gleaned from the Internet is very limited.

Hi, the Tool Database does has an icon, it is located in the Toolpath Operations section which is below the splitter bar on the right hand side of the screen.
